Personaly, I think the US should replace the M16 with the AK47.

.30cal is always better, when mag capacity is the same.

For the M4, replace with the P-90.
 
Err um.... nobody uses .30 cal cept the israeli Mitar, The ak-47 is also a decent battle rifle and reliable, but inaccurate at medium to long range as well as being out dated by about 30 years. 7.62mm ammo is nice for putting someone down if you hit them but it weighs alot, 5.56mm is lighter and that means you can carry more ammo into battle (a good thing). and the P-90 (love the weapon but...not a rifle) Is a SMG with a bastard child of a Pistol and a rifle round that has considerably less range than the 5.56mm round. Neither can even be consider to "replace" the venerable and proven (even if it did have problems at first M-16 series). Now before this goes Offtopic entirely.....

I was refering to AK's with that .30 comment, I frogor the exact cal of the AK, but knew it was around .30 (which 7.62 is)

Also, the M16 is still crap. Ive talked to some vets that returned from Iraq, and given a choice, theyd take the AK.

And as far as SMGs, the P90 is reasonably accurate and holds more ammo per round than the M4.
Plus it doesnt jam as much,

Alba where should our group be going ?
Im sorta lost at the moment, I'd do something but since you seem to have your own plan which overrides any innovating we do, Id rather not waste my time til I know what I can do.
 
Basically for now just scout ahead to the south and build some of you own story elements. I have something planned but it is little while off. The main rule is to keep in the units for the moment, unless directed otherwise, and don't create anything that is going to turn it a huge, more than three posts I'd say, task. I like you guys to be able to create and contribute so feel totally free to so but keep the above things in mind.

Also keep in mind that this is a roleplay and a role play needs a good story. Yes this is action driven but we also need to keep a story going so it doesn't turn it a FPS type role play without heart.

as miles said for the AK: replacing an old weapon with another old weapon is pretty dumb...

out of todays assault rifles i would probably choose the FN F2000 (or maybe the XM-29 OICW, although thats one heavy fucker)

as for the P90, it's a SMG. a good one at that, but it's useless at longer range. i'd rather use it for police units. the small bullets are made to go through 6 layers of kevlar, BUT they are designed to stop if they hit a brick wall or a soft target (humans...) to minimize collateral damage.

on a side not: sjeez we're a bunch of gunnuts
 
Yeah, the FN 2000 is badass looking, and has some exellent features.

Plus, it's supposedly rather capable in the elements.


And dont froget the G-36a
 
theres a G-36K for a reason :roll: .

and the Germans Only Export the G-36E model since that is the "export" one.

You guys are pretty free to post anything that fits in to a scout mission around the glow. This would include some small fights with creatures like the floaters but avoid basing everything off of fights. Take some time and build some character stories. The way I take the story is going to depend somewhat on what you guys posts. My main thing is not having anything that is going to turn into a long term commitment right at the moment.

I hope this clears everything up.
 
Ok just to be sure before i post where I am heading with my group. Now supposedly I will be going eastwards till i hit the coast and then south for a while before looping back from scouting.........correct?
 
Every is just to continue south until we find this sister site (I'll try to get on tomarrow to give more details about it but no promises.) If you guys are in the middle of something go ahead and finish it.



Yeah, pyro you guys to go east to the coast and south but you just continue south and don't loop around.
 
Heya, fellow players

I had to spend a few days away due to real life matters. When I reurned, after some talks with Welsh, we decided to open another thread - a new mission.

Since I will be in charge of that, I am leaving this one. I had started a storyline when I started here, but did not have much time and now with the New Mission I will be able to give you players more attention.

Okay everyone should be good for posting now.


Notes for posting: The power is not operational at the site and the sunlight that is lighting part of the room is quickly depleteing itself. We need to find a way to power up the facility, maybe a busted up backup generator that needs to be fixed.
 
Hey guys is it just me or is this first mission deal Dieing? Lets either get our asses in gear with it or shut it down for awhile. I dunno why but there is no school now and there is lmost no posting over the last 3 days
 
the idea is to show your skill and initiative in this RP dudes

it's your game (and dont start nagging about that one little run in with alba, it's been dealth with...)
 
I know, I would be creatrive but Im also extremly busy with other stuff.

Ive got an idea for the begining of the exploration of the bunker, but I wanted to allow you to arrive there first, since I dont know if you had anything planned on the way.
