OCC- First Mission

Yeah, but remember it's fallout- based on a the vision of a 1950s sci-fi pulp story- not history.

This is where so many Fallout fans forget the the Fallout universe- it's a vision based on Pulp 50s sci-fi, not the real world.

Check the Forbidden Planet for a model, or Panic in the Year 0. Barret .50 and HK submachineguns don't fit in that world, because they didn't exist, while M-14 or BAR or even the AK-47 does make better sense.

But if you notice there were very few gun names in the original fallout.

With regard to the engagement- I would suggest that the group reform after this encounter.

We have new recruitments and enough hard-core playes now that one group could be turned into a recon squad while the rest of army holds back. The recon guys would probably see a lot more action being the forefront of this little army.

Well then Welsh, by your own logic, there should be NO AKs in the US at all! Thanks for vindicating my point.
As ther were NO AKs in the US in the 50's, or what little there were would put them in the realm of 1 in game. 8)

it's just a matter of point of view and preference...

i'd much rather end up with a M16/M4 carbine, H&K G11 or an FN F2000 (all real guns) than an AK112

Welsh has a hard on for the 50's future point of view (old 50's & futuristic guns only) = FO1-style

I on the other hand sees it more like 50's future + current (old 50's, futuristic & present guns) = FO2-style

there is no 'right' or 'wrong' on this matter i think

I wouldn't go so far as to say I have a "hard-on" for it. But there are plenty of folks, especially hard-core Fallout Fans, that say that each spin-off from Fallout has lost touch with aspect of game play.

That said, even in Fallout 1 there was a bit of sloppiness. I recall Desert Eagles showing up.

Regardless, on this thread I am leaving it up to you guys. Personally I prefer the generics.

Remember Welsh, Falllout sort of is alalternate history in the way that it is done.

Certain aspects are more like real life that others, such as some guns.

Albatross, or Welsh, for good RP reasons i had to have Krogan capture Thor. I would have had to turn into superman to avoid it. (thanks SuAside  ) So the ball is in your court concerning Thor. I am open to any possibility as i am having a blast! :D

no need to thank me honey :p

i'll just go out and cleverly rescue your ass soon enough ;)

i wouldnt want to keep you waiting

however in RP-time it will take a while, so the BoS army probably will leave town before we return, but they shouldnt be hard to track and i got the radio to call em if they arent too far away.

I am planning a little something for thorgrimm, hopefully i'll get it up today, sunday, or tomorrow, monday. I still want to keep Krogan around awhile longer so let's not kill him off just yet.

There were a total if eight claws in a large cavern. One was much larger than the others and the other seven seemed to be trying to protect her. This was clearly the mother claw.

another little comment ;)

the mother deathclaw shouldn't be bigger than any standard deathclaw (although it's possible she is bigger). she is just a female chosen by the pack leader as a mate. the packleader could be bigger however, but that again is just a possibility, not a fact. the pack leader is supposed to be the strongest male (which says nothing about size)

for more info on their organisation go talk to the deathclaws in V13 ;)
(although they are smarter, they say the organisation is the same for lesser deathclaws)

so what did i wanna say with this post? nothing needs to be edited thusfar, but keep in mind that the mother is in no way the leader of the deathclaws

I posted this early to Thorgrimm. I would keep Krogan and Corr as something of the "nemisis" someone we bump into, who we exchange shots with, who makes us bleed.

Our Arch-enemy. Luke's Darth Vader, kind of. And they shouldn't always lose.

Welsh, that is why i had Krogan capture me. As it would not have been good RPing to get out of that situation. :D And yeah, every good story needs a real 'good' bad guy. 8)

That part was not the best I agree. 1) Deathclaw behavior would most likely be simular to that of birds where the male and female would take turns hunting and egg watching. which leads to 2) This could be the alphamale at the nest not the "mother".

Ok, what should the Kahgan-Jack-TenelKa-Miles group be about to run into ?

I tried to do a psot for that, but Im to tired to write right.

My post was supposed to be before Alba's meaning we are waiting near the cavern that the BOS warriors are looking into, waiting for orders.

My post kinda jumped the gun. There are probably a couple of places where the claws are hiding. Let's just search them out one group at a time, have some fun taking them out (this includes getting hurt, deathclaws are dangerous and should be Rped as such an enemy), and move to the next group.
