i've got a mild intrest in the army and weapons

i love and hate them both at the same time

i even considered to go to the belgian officerschool after i failed my first year at the university (i'm smart enough, 130 IQ, but i'm just darn lazy, i probably need discipline in my life). eventually i didn't, i've got a busted up knee, so i probably wouldn't even make it through the fysical...

anyhow, are you ex-USMC or still in the corps ?

how does it feel to be part of the "Uncle Sam's Misguided Children" or was it "Uncle Sam's Migrating Chimpanzees" ?

although, nevermind this is probably not the right thread for such questions

I totally forgot to tell you guys to not find the nest or source of the deathclaws yet. please avoid it for now.

OOC-Long time reading these boards but just recently had time to register, going to throw out a character here and then see where i can work him into the mission.

The colt .45 is holstered on his right hip in a tactical holster, The combat knife is slid into his left boot, The magazines for the assault rifle are in pouches on the vest. The rifle hangs on its sling over his shoulder when not in his hands.

Lemme know if any of this needs to be changed to fit the story, Just an idea, probably going to start him off as one of the many Mercs the BOS recruited as he retreats back to the center of the town if that is acceptable.

Sounds good miles, right now Captain Arco is trying to get every organized to attept to destroy the deathclaws. It is either this or try to fall back and be hunted down by the deathclaws in the escape. Arco has gone for the first.

M19 ? never heard of that, got a link? (or is it some fake FO:tictacs gun?

found a pistol named M19 (a cheap ripoff)
found a mine named M19
found a blank firing system called m19
found a whole load of shit, but no assault rifle...

little extra comment here:

every two posts i read either how your character kills off a couple of muties or about how deathclaws rip apart a couple of muties

might i remind you that there were no more than 20 muties in town to begin with ? so i kinda figure we got rid of most of them by now ;)

Yup, most of the muties are probably dead....
The threat now is the Deathclaws, but remember they're pretty tough, so we can't kill Deathclaws like it something we do every day after lunch!

Just do what dammage you can whilst running like hell.

Let the heavy BOS pple do the claw killing when you can.

When you cant........ youre fucked, unless your lucky.

just my $0.02 (can I start saying just my interplay share instead of my 2 cents ? Basicly the same value :P )

Eh i got this outa the Wasteland Manual(sheesh thats old lol)

M1989A1 NATO Assault Rifle: The M1989A1 is big brother to the original M16A1. It was
rechambered to accept the same 7.62mm ammo that the AK series of rifles uses so troops could use
captured Soviet ammo. Although assault rifle users greatly preferred the American ammo for its damage
capabilities, the military implemented this change in anticipation of front-line ammo shortages. With this
arrangement, a solider could kill an enemy and replenish his supply at the same time.

I just cut the 89A1 part off the name to shorten typing and changed the ammo type to fit more in with the Fallout 1. it hasnt been named in the ICC post yet so ill change it to a AK112 if that is more acceptable. The part about the mutants getting killed was supposed to be a hour or so before that post. just to give a time frame of when he started retreating.

Miles to be Honest Fallout was terribly bad about weapon names. As AK anything should not be plentiful in the US Southwest. So i would recommend keeping the other name. As AK is SO out of place in the US.

CHeers Thorgrimm

Depends Thorgrimm-

IN the late 1980s and early 1990s, there were a lot of AK-47s coming over from China.

I'll Stick with the M1989A1, it fits his family backround as a bunch of survivalist Militia, ex-military, pro american people.

@ welsh:

true

the AK is popular for gunfreaks, criminals & militias

but what probably bugs Thorgrimm is that in FO it's clearly standard military issue (Sierra Army depot & the Enclave for instance)

SuAside that is correct, as it was way to common in the game. Welsh a few thousand, does not equate to the millions of M-16s. In a post apoc America i can guarantee you that you would find a heck of a lot more M-16s and AR-15s than AKs. :)

As an aside, during that period Welsh i could get an H&K 93 7.62 easier than i could an AK, and belive me i tried to get an AK.

Cheers Thorgrimm
