One of the advantages of growing up in a country where everything is/was subbed instead of dubbed is that I developed a talent for reading the subs while still being able to watch and hear everything that's happening on the screen naturally. I even prefer to watch English movies and series with English subs.

I usually hate dubs, many characters have such different voices or don't relate emotion like the original ones, and spoil the movie/show. The exception to this is usually with silly shows. I have two shows that got even better with their European Portuguese dubs: "Dragon Ball" and "Ren & Stimpy". These shows were so silly by themselves, that the people doing the dubs could be silly too and added or changed stuff that wasn't present in the originals, and those things made the shows more hilarious and better.

What does that even mean?

You guys always make grand statements about something the rest of the world has absolutely zero problem with.
