Old World Blues

They seem to spawn every time you exit a building in that valley near the forbidden zone, you could probably "farm" them there.

Where'd you get that mask? Is that a mod or is it in the game somewhere?

I am gonna look for those mad Scientis Gauntlets and go around dressed like a mad Scientist, if only there were Spiral googles.

Also what mod is he using for the eyes in that pic, does anyone know? They look tons better than the default eyes.

I downloaded an eye mod once but they were all too big and looked like big glass balls stuck in their eye sockets. It was pretty creepy really.

Project Mikoto?I think that is the most popular Hari + eyes mod, I use it but only use a handful of the new hairs, most of them is a bunch of anime hair.

I really wish I could find a hair mod that didn't make everyone look like something out of an anime, that just kind of kills the mood for me but the default hair is crap. I'm always hoping that I'll at least find one that fixes the blonde hair color *shudders at the thought of it* and the plastic look.

Well yo ucan "fix" the blond color by spending some tiem adjusting the color balance, but it's too much busy work for somethign that has no real impact.

$10 for this DLC.

Not worth it.

Quests: Run around collecting stuff for very unoriginal jokes (Talking appliences? Already seen it in Red Dwarf series)
It all seems pointless, like they couldn't be bothered making a actual story at all for this DLC and just rushed.

Stealth suite seems to be the only redeeming point to this DLC in my opinion.

*Sighs*

Why do I get the feeling Road DLC will be the same as the last few?

^Is it really that bad?

I have a free weekend now, and I'm going to spend it on FNV and all DLC. By the looks of reviews on the Internet they praise only Bethesda for this DLC, no mention of Obsidian...funny.

It wont load... If i unistall fallout new vegas, are my saves still there?

edit: anyone run this DLC with the VeronicaFix.esp ?

Should be, but it would be better to save your savefiles to another location.

Yeah they never do funnily enough, funniest part is that Bethesda never gets any of the blame for anything bad either; should see the fanboys on the Bethesda Forums sometimes.

I am using a mod for the eyes but it's actually a cannibalised Fallout 3 mod that I just kept the textures from.

The mask is actually in the game files. A fair amount of content was left over from Fallout 3 including the surgical mask your dad and that crazy science lady wear during the birthing scene.

I believe you don't need the Veronica fix anymore, they fixed the levelling problem a few patches back if I remember correctly.

Hmm, might mod the Lobotmite goggles to have spirals.

Also got stuck in the dog kennel, vats in there and couldn't get out.

So far no, it's not that bad, it's actually excellent for a DLC. Tons of dialog with an entertaining narrative that you can mold in several ways, lots of exploring and you get a good house and good loot. I'm really enjoying it, only wished Fallout 4 would be more like this and less like Oblivion, but it won't happen.

I don't know if that's really "unoriginal" or rather a reference.
Fallout always drew a lot from popular culture and even more from the rather obscure parts of it.

I had already seen it in the Fallout series...
Didn't you chat with the Brave Little Toaster in the EPA?

Again, its a personal taste thing man, personally I really liked OBW even if a lot of the quests are basically Fed ex quests.
Its the style in which they are told which is so funny done, and the world that is full of these little discoveries.

Like I brought up in a discussion; when its good the journalists seem to forget Obsidian and praise Bethesda for a well done Fallout product, and when its bad they suddenly remember Obsidian and bring up where the developers went wrong.

Nice double standards.

Old World Blues does fetch quests right though, since it basically just uses them as an excuse to make you explore interesting places with interesting stories and designs to them.

Compared to the main game, which was hit-and-miss with that and could be irritating (the BoS quest-line was incredibly long and sent you in some pretty irritating places, Return to Sender sent you to ranger station hnghr...) or Honest Hearts (lots of map marks to explore but pretty barren overall, I felt) and it's definitely better. It also has some genuinely creative stuff like the testing facilities, and many of the quests are optional.

Also, but this is something it shares with Honest Hearts, the map design is a lot better than the Mojave.

The writing though.. I simply don't feel it was particularly good. Sure, there are chuckle-worthy lines and it ties well into the other DLCs, but it's a thin narrative that relies too much on its weak comedic attempts. I think it's telling that the best narrative of the DLC comes from its ties to Dead Money and Lonesome Road.

I definitely think Old World Blues is a good addition to the current DLC. I enjoyed the exploration aspect of it. In my opinion, it was done pretty well. The comedy was good, but sometimes dragged on a bit, particularly when I first entered the Think Tank. Still, afterwards, the DLC definitely picked up for me.
