Old World Blues

Strange, the game seems to work with an older playthrough.
If you have dlc's, can you continue playing after beating the original FNV main quest?
Old world blues is my first dlc bought...

edit: been having problems entering the old world blues area with my current character.

As long as you made a save sometime before the battle of Hoover Dam then you can play on any character.

Ah, sorry, should have mentioned in that message that i have been having problems entering the old world blues area.

I am gonna look for those mad Scientis Gauntlets and go around dressed like a mad Scientist, if only there were Spiral googles.

A quick attempt worn by my new energy weapons character, Scientist No. 1.
To a create a better world through Science! And lasers! Maybe some plasma as well... hot plasma for everyone!

Spirals are a bit titchy but they got lazy with the lenses making it hard to judge the size. :P

So, what is/are this/those skeletons we've seen in the preview? Is it the player , or just an enemy?

[spoiler:6440223ca8]Long dead bodies trapped in automated suits which were designed to automatically walk a soldier back to home base in the event of a near fatal injury.[/spoiler:6440223ca8]

Nice, that actually sounds pretty creepy and makes sense. Thanks!

Though I'm a bit confused:

[spoiler:981edc7f65]why are there such former soldiers trapped in the suits when there never was a conventional war around the Mojave Area?[/spoiler:981edc7f65]

Blah blah bitch bitch. there are Hazmat Suits.

Enough, Walpknut. Stop complaining about other people being critical, it's pointless. Either refute their points or stay quiet, this kind of behavior is breaking the rules.

[spoiler:f0a66764e8]I think they might have been people testing the suits, the suits never left the Big Empty since they were flawed and caused the wearer to attack people.[/spoiler:f0a66764e8]

More on the suits...

[spoiler:55c014c7b5]A test wearer could not take them off without help and when everything started going tits up at Big MT people were left trapped in them and couldn't escape while the suit learned to act on it's own and took over the motor functions.
They slowly starved to death while the suit wandered around attacking anything it saw as a threat[/spoiler:55c014c7b5]

On the suits:

[spoiler:1299df2fa6]They were designed to be used as a way to bring back wounded soldiers/dudes in hazardous working conditions if they became incapacitated. They noticed two bugs at Big MT that needed to be resolved.

1: if you did not assign a "home base" for the suits, they tended to wander about randomly.

2: The suits sometimes got confused about what quantified the criteria for take over, and it would occasionally just happen.

Combine this with the fact that the suits learned to mimic the muscle movements of the dude wearing them, and they start acting like the soldiers they were protecting. Eventually the soldiers starve and die and the suits continue to wander and shoot things, presumably while also killing things defensively, gathering ammunition to continue killing things, etc.

They're also a wonderful Doctor Who reference, to the "Silence in the Library", which is totally obvious if you have WW on.[/spoiler:1299df2fa6]

Speaking of the doctor scrubs, do they look incredibly bulky on female characters, or do I have some sort of mod conflict?

Is it true there are wearable Hazmat Suits?
Yes, the hazmat suit (and helmet) make you look just like the ghost people in dead money. Pretty awesome, in my opinion...
The suit gives you +85 poison resistance and has a DT of 11. The helmet gives you unlimited night vision (like cateye) and has a DT of 3.

It can be found in the hazmat testing area, just east of the think tank... i will post up a pic tomorrow.

The hazmat suit is cool, but annoying in vanilla NV. I don't see why you would wear it unless you have a night darkening mod installed.

The only problem I have with the hazmat suit is that the night vision makes it impossible to take a good picture.
Also, Alphadrop? You should make your character's hair longer. Then you'll have Doctor Insano!

The hazmat suit is useful if you have a night darkening mod installed like I do, but without a mod and whenever it's daylight it's just annoying. An option to turn the night vision off would have been nice.
