Patches for Fallout 2

Suggestion:
1. Please have the .233 pistol look like a pistol and not a smg. When the character is carrying it. or does anyone know how i can do that?
 
Another suggestion. Matthew outside the Brotherhood building in San Francisco, that give's you a quest to retrieve vertibird plans, could give you this quest only when you have high enough level. Level 15 or 17 would be enough(?). This would also balance the game more in the way that it prevents you getting the Advanced Power Armor too early.


I've also come across a dialog bug. Go to Navarro with stupid character and talk to the gate guard. Choose line "Me want go inside." or something like that. When he answer "need to pass get inside etc." he's head disappears while saying that and comes visible again when he stops talking. This bug has happened both my US and UK versions and my discs are in perfect condition.
 
Guys, I recovered my copy of F2. I got the 1.05 patch and the update and applied them properly (I think so) but now the game refuses to run. I gives me the registration screen and after it, the message "couldn't find/load text" appears and quits. Can anyone help me? I am stumped.

Don't bother guys, I managed to find out where I fucked up (I put the wrong location for master.dat in the fallout.cfg file). I now have another question. I applied the 1.05 patch, disabled the b-team mod (replaced the character's scripts with the 1.02 versions) and added the miria mod. You guys think the infinite party members mod will work? If you don't tell me why and where should I expect bugs if you can. That way, we can compose a troubleshooting faq regarding mods and 1.05 patch.
 
I am happy and also, so far no probs with my solution to my B-team vs Infinite Party members conundrum. I love me but not as much Liv Tyler does.

No. It's one of those never added items so I figured that SAD would be a good place to drop it... and also I think that it should be used there on Skynet (or in San Fran on the Emperor computer).

:? um sorry im a noob to the forum actually first post but its in regard to your patch 1.05 i have the HK gun mod where it replaces all the FO2 guns with H&K ones but i cant run the patch without deleting the PATCH000.dat and i need that to run fame to use the HK mod if someone can help me i would appreaciate it .... im also running the miria mod too but that works i really want to play with those guns and play the mod but i wont play it with the standard weapons only the HK ones so please help....
 
well use dat explorer and unpack all the guns of the H&K mod and paste them over the F2 proto folder I think

Not entirely related to the upcoming 1.6 patch but wouldn't it be possible to have the B-team mod and the infinite party members by cutting/pasting the parts that the B-team scripts are missing from the infinite mod?

In F1 it was the psychic nullifier (same pic though).

Actually the 1.06 will have the Cult of Personality Mod included that will allow you to have infinite party members. :)

Ok, some info about the upcoming patch to keep you satisfied: :)

The patch will be in \data folder format, not patch000.dat. I choosed this because:

a. the patch is better packed when using \data format than patch000.dat format, thus it's smaller and downloads faster
b. you can actually choose which things you want in the patch, since you can, for an example remove the data\text folder if your playing version other than US\UK\PL and use the patch with it, without the need of unpacking and packing the thing with patch000.dat
c. Patch 1.04

Most of the things for the US\UK version are tested.
 
Im not sure if this is right section but i believe it does concern your patch (btw thanks for the welcome always wanted to join but did really have a reason till i needed assistance) anyhow my problem is that i reinstalled the game then added your 1.05 patch and the update 1 then i added the miria mod i got up to her she changes her clothing but if you look at her or tell her to stay she does the same things like she would do in version 1.02 offical patch oh and i read only everything even things thats arent pro files and stuff just to be safe so i dont understand what the problem is perhaps the files are colliding with each other im not sure. if you could help i would appreaciate it. i think i saw a comment about it before earlier in this section cant remember... good job so far with the patch i agree with who ever said that we should include a quest or storyline for the vertibray i think there should be a quest to help them or when your talking to the enclave at the Gecko powerplant they will actually send an assault squad to remove you hehehe ^_^ and the ghouls help you take them out but of course since they are ghouls they would scatter like matchsticks when a vinicator were shoved up there rear :P oh and when you finish the game it was kind of boring killing people who were three times weaker then yourself, the only fun i had was when i had slayer perk and hands of the east or something perk attacking enclave patrols and using an advanced powerfist. instead have brotherhood encounters in there old powerarmour and some really powerful guns and have them in groups of 15 or so or have battles between brotherhood and enclave and SOMEONE PLEASE add a massive brotherhood base and quests i miss the self rightous militristic sods....

Does that mean, that the "Armor" Mod and the "Infinite Members" Mod are (finally) combined?

I hope, that (most of) the scripting bugs will be fixed now....

Another Question: Will there be new critters and/or new items or will there only obsolete ones be used?
Although I do not miss the Fire-Gecko pelt from Patch 1.05, new Items or critters might well become a problem for me....

Cant realize your problem. I also combined the 1.05 Patch and Miria Mod - and it worked well (besides that Miria didnt level up....)

Maybe you should set the protect flag ONLY on Proto files !??
Or you had some other mods combined too ?

I dont think it is useful to add more new features (besides I dont know if this would be possible...), or the "patch" will never be finished....

Those mods aren't combined yet but they will be soon. :)

Some script bugs will be fixed.

There will be some new items since you will get the Abbey location for an example.
