Patches for Fallout 2

The mad doctor says its targeted for super mutants only. Ghouls, AFAIK aren't super mutants. They are just some poor fucks that took too many rads (probably got caught in an unprotected area when shit hit the fan). The only ghoul that I am not sure that he is a ghoul is Harold. He probably received more than a small nudge of FEV in the Mariposa Base.
 
i know ghoulies are not super mutants..
sm are just the ones made in the vats

i was saying that cause probably it could be a bug considering that vault city guards always said that marcus was a ghoul if i remember correctly

Yep, But the 1.05 patch fixed that bug.


I always use the mutagenic serum on Grundel at Military Base. It's easy, cause he won't turn hostile if you are behind him. Just stick it in his back. :)
 
Good news. Patch 1.06 will contain a large number of script fixes than are currently present in Seraph's 1.03b patch.

Besides the fact, that most fixes were in both patches - it surely ist best to have only one (combined) patch!

But noiw: how long will it take till the release of YOUR patch ?
I can hardly wait any longer ;-)))

Well, there still will be two patches since Seraph will work on his own versions.

mmmm keep up the good work than!

only thing i am thinking is that to "obtain the best" and to work less is better for you to work together..
i mean, instead of fixing in 2 the same problems it would be easier if he does something and you do something else...

obviously the decision is yours..

but i don t understand the utility two have 2 different patches..
it s just more difficult for people to understand wich is the correct version/ type and so..

well
only thing i hope is that kaga makes to be in a patch eventually..
I am really looking forward for him 'cause i think that a "rival" is really what fallout is missing..

well I have a -perhaps silly- question:

HOW can I (de-)compile these scripts?
The (in the mapper) included compile.exe wont work....

And ...are the books moddable ? It would be great, if there would be some more use for it....


And now:
concerning the upcoming patch:

Will there be Suliks Sis anywhere ?
Is Kaga enabled ?
Will Merc steal from "my" car ?

Just curious ;-)))

#Jona0 - You need an C compiler to compile scripts. Watcom 1 was used to compile the original Fallout.

About DeCompiling as far as i remember there is as decompiler out there. but i cant remember where. but why would you need to decompile the scripts? they are all included in the mapper.

Pity, so I can change/fix the scripts, but not compile them ?
Because I dont have a C-Compiler and I dont want to buy one (just for the scripts...) - and this watcom, that Iply used, isnt free, is it?


So I managed to unlock KAGA sucessfully, but now I cannot correct the scripts ;-(((

Greetings all,

I did a clean install of Fallout 2 and the 1.05 patch + update but the armour does not show on Sulik.
I read something in here about setting .pro files to read only before playing the game. I did another clean install at max. size, but then found that there are no .pro files in the fallout 2 directory at all.
I'm running the UK version in win98, there is no patch[number]dat file. Can anyone be of assistance?

edit: I'm now very confused - the yellow key card HAS been removed from the canyon but no brahmin carcasses or dog tags have been added.
 
The .pro files disappear when you load a game and if they're not set to Read only. I don't get the rest: since the keycard is gone, there should be brahmin remains in there cause it was changed along with the card in the map. :?

There's 'Open Watcom', it's free and it does what you need. It works fine for me when I compile scripts.
I'm unsure where to download it exactly, do a google you should find it.
 
Weapons sounds

Is there anywhere i can get a mod/patch for swapping the m60 and bozar sounds and nothing else ? sorry for being a noob but i want to play a game using big guns only and the sound of the m60 has put me off, because i know its wrong from per's guide.

Any chance EPA and Abbey will appear and even that Ian (the Idiot Savant)?

Man can't wait either. Right now, I am stock pilling patches and other goodies you people turn out, so when I create My dream machine of death, I'll be ready!
 
Maybe next you should read through the thread before asking, the EPA and the Abbey were mentioned before. And Ian is already there in the 1.05 patch.
