the only thing that isnt working is abbey

i know the patch is on i got the dog tag in klamath off the dead enclave soldier, but no abbey above gecko...


is it a world location, or IN gecko??

It´s a world location. A little up from Gecko.

Try installing the Abbey mod over the 1.05 again. If it doesn´t work, you don´t miss a lot, trust me. I´ve got much better Abbey mod coming hopefully near future.
 
EDIT: Nevermind, found my solution on page 11. Silly me. Anyway, great patch, this irons out those last few turn-offs Fallout 2 had. Adds a lot of gaming and replay value. Nice work!
 
I still have that too many items bug, i thought this was fixed in the patch. Clown your sig is creepy and disturbing like morhg's...you two should make exquisite friends.

Nope, it is a engine bug. 1.05 patch uses a few new items, which means that this bug happens more often (I think).
 
Any progress with 1.06, Celestial?

Are the EPA maps copyrighted or can I improve/modify/create scripts for them and release them public. I ask this because:

1. As I have understood, there is no quarantine that EPA will ever be released (by current creators).

2. I'm making a Fallout 2 Gold Edition (unofficial), that would likely include EPA.
 
Help with 1.05 patch please

Hello,

Since this is my first post; I apologize if my question has been asked before. I just can't find a clear answer sifting through countless messages.

Questions:

How do I install 1.05 patch and update 1 properly?
Do I need to install the 1.02 official patch first?
Do I need to delete files?
Which ones do I set read only?

Nothing is really clear.

I got to Klamath and there is a yellow key card on the dead Enclave guy. I assume from reading some messages that it should be dog tags. Also, Sulik does not show he is wearing armor.
 
You will need to remove the existing Patch00.dat I think :?

I think you just install the officail 1.02 patch to upgrade the fallout.exe then delete the patch00.dat file and install the 1.05 patch.

Sorry I have never actually used it myself (I was waiting for 1.06)

I read through all the messages at work (don't tell my boss) and figured it out:

1. Deleted patch00.dat
2. Set all .PRO files to read only
3. deleted number 34 Pro so .223 ammo doesn't waste me.

I created a character and buzzed through the temple of trials; ran over to Klamath, and found dog tags on the enclave soldier. Oh, and the brahman guts also.

Time to start playing!
 
I just stopped playing until 1.06 comes out. I think that edit on the starting page to say 1.06 instead of 1.02 is cool.
 
Hi, I'm new here, so please forgive me if this has been asked before.

How can I get Falche to work with the 1.05 patch? After it's installed, Falche won't load the savegames anymore...

After reading all 42 pages....I believe that Falche does not work with this unoficcial patch, due to the fact it changes many things including how save games are written. I think that Falche loads from the patch000.dat file. (am I right on this one?) anyway, there might be some intense work around for using Falche.

I would like to say after reading about the harddrive incident, I am very pleased to hear you have picked up your project again Celestial. That takes some very intense will power to recoop from something so dramatic as losing all those months of hard work. I am trying out the 1.05 patch now and I like what I see so far.

BTW I started using the patch AFTER I started a game on 1.02 in the Temple of Trials. It worked fine. ALSO, I didnt set the .pro files to read only until after I got to Klamath and STILL, everything worked fine. So this seems to be a very stable version. I can't wait to see v 1.06. Good luck Celestial! You have done us all a tremendous favor! :D
 
Actually the workaround wasn't so intense, and your post unwillingly showed the way to me. I simply installed the 1.02 patch, created a new game, altered it with Falche and then installed the 1.05 patch. Voilà :) Everything running smoothly... thanks!

Alright, well I sort of messed up on the character I wanted to play this time in Fallout 2, so fate has handed me a chance to wait for 1.06. Count in another person who's waiting with much anticipation (especially for EPA...seeing something out of the Bible made real is going to be SWEET). Who would have thought that tagging the wrong skill with 1.05 would lead to the ability to wait for 1.06? Good luck everyone that's involved.


Edit: Edge, I decided that for once I was going to shun small arms (I never have before, in any Fallout game in dozens of game starts), and tag something else instead. Trying a slightly more desperate move and having Energy Weapons as my only combat skill. It's a whim!
 
Tagging the wrong skill? What do you mean?

Earlier I had said that I continued a game saved under the official 1.02 patch, after applying the unofficial 1.05 patch. All does work well besides the fact that I can only save under that slot anymore, and not over another slot. I think I can try copying the save directory for that save game over top of another directory for another slot to allow myself the extra slots desired, but I have not tried this yet. I'll pop back in when I have.
 
The M60 is a burst weapon, but its sound is a single fire sound.
I fixed the sound for this proto, you can find it here.
Drop it in the patch \proto\items and the M60 has a burst sound.
Apologies in advance if you already have this fix ....
