Point Lookout press release, screenshots, trailer

Why do I keep reading these news entries? They just make me sad.

No consistency, no plot, the description of PL makes it sound like you'd go on a seaside holiday, which doesn't fit in the fallout world, who the hell is operating a ferry?

I am more wondering how a nineteenth century ferry (from the looks of it) is still operable two hundred years after the War.
If people hadn't stripped the wood for fuel, wouldn't it have wasted away by now?
The same applies for the engine, if it hadn't rusted it away people would probably have taken parts from it.

attack of the hillbilly zombies. june 23?

this whole setting makes no sense (in fallout),
ESPECIALLY when all of the rest of the game is A FUCKING DESERT.

I wouldn't mind a redneck-infested swamp in fallout 2. And i'm pretty sure i remember "We don't like yer kind around here" as a combat taunt from that game.

I wouldn't also mind an alien abduction subplot in fallout 2. It was anyway full of b-movie references, it did it humourously and skillfully, and i enjoyed it a lot.

But we're talking about fallout 3 DLCs here, skill and humour are completely irrelevant.

Bethesda should buy the Bubble Bubble license and make an action RPG out of that, it fits their design philosophy better.

It doesn't look too bad. Sounds a hell of a lot better than the stupid alien one anyway, it's supposedly 1/5 of the Capital Wasteland, so I do look forward to some new content and a new environment to explore.

On one hand as an FPS this looks pretty nice, its a shame it never looks that good in action (I bet they had to cut it that way cause of crashes) but this ISN'T AN FPS ITS AN RPG and that is what makes this NOT GOOD. It has nothing to do with the feel of fallout and it lost all semblance of logic months ago.

Its like they are going through fallout and trying to find weak parts in the membrane so they can ram their dick in a new hole.

And of course, all redneck rampage mutants are evol and must diiee!!!

Would be awesome if Beth didn't even include one character in the whole setting that could talk, which would mean that we get even more 10/10 reviews and that means more stupid DLCs. This is pure comedy, and I can't even think about what's next after the Mothership Zeta crap, but I think I will be pleasantly surprised :drunk:

I wonder how many new DLC they can release.
All the dlc looks bad, is mainly bad, and mainly have nothing resembling RPG. 10$ for couple hours of gameplay.
So you buy fallout 3 and the DLC, and it will cost you 100$
Now thats bad.

Also:

What will be next ?
Fallout 3 in 1880 ?
Fallout 3 in underwater sea base ?
Fallout 3 enclave strikes back back back ?

fallout 3 in the pyramids
fallout 3 in the caribbean
fallout 3 in Hades
fallout 3 in Planet Crypton
fallout 3 in post apocalyptic California...no wait scratch that
fallout 3 in Middle Earth
fallout 3 in WW2
fallout 3 in ancient Rome
fallout 3 in Isengard
fallout 3 in the land of Oz
fallout 3 in stone age
fallout 3 in Trannsylvania
fallout 3 in the volcano

If F3 was a rape, I don't know how this must be called.

Raping the corpse perhaps?

Most of the flak that these DLC recieve is mainly based on the big gigantic dump on the setting they perform. Fallout 3 itself barely pulls it off in bits and pieces.

The only one that really got any kind of praise from me was The Pitt, and that was just the atmosphere.

Seriously. What does this even remotely have to do with Fallout?

They can't even use their retarded 50s pulp fiction excuse on this one.

Fallout's inherent C&C nature does not lend itself to small packs of content which are entirely isolated from one another.

Fallout will be more profitable for Bethesda if it isn't chained to a single milieu, especially one as esoteric as PA. I see an opportunity here for Fallout to go mainstream. Fallout can be horror; Fallout can be fantasy; Fallout can be racing simulation. I can't wait for all the great new Fallout games. Think how cool Fallout will be when it has magic. More is better.

This could be good if done right. I like it when the postapocalyptic setting is not reduced to a reeeeeaaaaaaly huge desert with some trash lying around. There's bound to be different settings. Mutated swamp is a neat idea, but as someone mentioned it looks like a whole bunch of cliches and stereotypes (rednecks, voodoo) thrown together. And I hate if there's too much of them. So I guess the 'if done good' part is rather not true :(

I figured it.
Makes no fucking sense, for crying out loud...
They should stop doing crack before brainstorming...

Out of all the DLC released so far I have not downloaded a single one. This does not look too bad however. Yeah, it doesn't fit but then nothing fits with the original, as this forum has discussed to death. If the writing can match the detail of Dark Corners then it could be a worthwhile purchase.

If there's going to be any writing (like dialogue and stuff) :P
