I already like how some want to keep police but they have to be more carebear. Getting rid of the assholes is not enough. They want police officers to beg the criminals to comply. Give criminals an almost unending time to comply. They would probably expect officers to get hurt before they are authorized to defend themselves.

Some residents expect a replacement force where the director has zero law enforcement experience and the methods would be based on policing with a holistic community approach. They want more diversified officers even though Kueng, the rookie who had zero authority to override Chauvin, who is also black, was fired.

One guy here believes community policing means the officer is also a social worker and a psychologist among other skills LOL. The training and schooling required and risk would mean the city would have to offer a pretty hefty salary to balance out the prerequisites.

Can't wait to see the massive turnover rate of this new force and the inability of them to hire replacements because the demands are sky high but the pay is probably going to be shit.

If you actually read my post I said FAR lefty. There are reasonable people on the Left (my boyfriend is a leftist for fucks sake.) but the far side of the spectrum, just like with the right, leave much to be desired. The reason I go after the far left more is because they are the ones tearing down statues, erasing history, killing people and making everything and everyone go through an ideological purity test.
 
Lmao Tearing down statues is not tearing down history. If you take down a statue history it's not gone it's still there in books, websites, newspaper articles etc. Was the history of Saddam Hussein magically erased once his statue was toppled, did Hitlers history disappear as well once his statue was toppled. Do people visit statues to learn history lmao of course not you read books, and consult historical documents etc.

More to the point the monuments weren't put up to commemorate history they were put up to reassert authority over the black population. Most were built from 1890-1910's this was at the height of lynchings in the south. Also there was a smaller spike of building statues in the civil rights era. They were meant to glorify them not to show history.

You don't see me crying, hurting people or toppling down statues because "the statues glorify the evil white men who stole my ancestors land!" . Many of these statues being taken down or desecrated are of Fredrick Douglass and black Union soldiers. Knowing you I bet you have a dumbass excuse for this too.
