Problem with Obamacare is in states like mine the Republicans gimped the system to where only one or two companies offer coverage. This is because the Republicans have sabotaged pretty much every single thing having to do with it. If people were taxed a little more, in whatever form that might be (personally I say tax the hell out of cigarettes and weed, after the weed is rescheduled and whatnot) the costs would offset one another.
Decrease military spending, pull back our military, invest in education and infrastructure, overhaul the healthcare system, and stop our companies from leaving the US. If we saved a few bilion by not building jets that are out of date by the time they are done, we might have more money to spend on things that mattered, like training our citizens to live in the 21st century - by increasing our skilled labor and education we can create a healthier population that won't get diabetes from stuffing their faces with Crispy Cream Donuts. They might not get their news from Prisonplanet and Fox "News" either.
Rich folks don't understand the plight of the poor and sick. They are too worried about buying their HUMMER and getting NOSE JOBS. I have found that at times the ones that have lots of things, are selfish/stingy and don't care much about what happens to other people. The ones that lack often are very giving. This is why you see poor people at church giving way too much money when the plate is passed around. Anecdotal evidence aside (don't care) much can be said about the difference in thinking.
People like Trump don't help out much, like "cheating" their taxes (blame the system here) and giving a measly 1 million buck to Veterans, acting like you just did some great deed. A million bucks to Trump is like me donating one hundred - as generous as throwing a half eaten sandwich to a homeless person. I changed my political beliefs as I got older. I used to think like some of the local Trumpeans. Over time experience brings about wisdom and you see people often switch parties.
What does all of this mean? It means that some of you haven't the foggiest idea what the fuck you are talking about. The greatest country in the world, right? American dream? Dead as fuck. Welcome to the 21st century version of this

How about we start another war by false flag operation or coup/proxies so we can sacrifice more veterans health and welfare *sarcasm? Or let more CEO's get their $300 million dollar bonuses after breaking the law to make that money. While our citizens suffer in the street, and die from curable diseases with expensive treatments, people are living it large and saying "Get over it lol."...
Not only that but trickle down economics doesn't work. It adds to debt and then sensible Democrats have to come into power and settle the bill. But no let's elect someone who doesn't know how to manage money and fails constantly and complain about cliques in politics which is inevitable if you put people into a workplace...
Why don't we go back to the gold standard? Oh, because IOU's wouldn't be effective anymore and the banks/government would have to actually deal fairly. How about we get rid of all these crooked politicians and elect normal people into power? Not really since they are people just like politicians.
How can we be unemployed if we need about a zillion (accurate) roads/bridges/dams rebuilt? Maybe we could stop wasting so much damn money on rebuilding countries we explode (grammar) or hurricanes destroy because of rampant global warming (science) so things are a little more kosher.
To think that the thing America was so afraid of, is the better way to live.

I realize people get all worked up about the election, but it doesn't really matter. The interesting things in terms of legislation all happen on a state and local level - from gay marraige and pot legalization on one side, to fracking on the other - there are both progressive and pro-business policies taking place in states. Washington, not so much. I can't speak to all that other noise you mentioned.
