Putting an NMA bar in Wasteland 2 (goal reached!)

Shh, if you speak his name he disappears in a mysterious puff of smoke.

Well it's gone a bit over 850 now.

I'd like to pitch in for this but I really can't afford it at the moment. Maybe in a couple weeks. Will the widget still be up by then?

doubt $34 will earn me a spot

but in all honesty, i would rather NMA gets their location than codex.

codex is a cesspool that i only visit for GD.

and now that odin makes occasional apperances, all we need is roshiepoo to make more apperances.

Yeah, we're way over our required amount now, included the 5% Paypal takes. We don't need any more submissions, though anything given will still go directly to WL2.

I'll ask Fargo if we can put in a small little "regulars" or even better "open tabs" system. Kind of like:
"On the clipboard is a list of the bar's open tabs. Most of the names have been crossed out, but about two dozen remain:
(names of NMA donations)
Going by the dates next to their names, these people have long since passed on."

But I'm not promising any kind of reward for donating to this. If nothing ingame can be done we'll put up a thank-you list somewhere on NMA. Probably using real names, though I'll send out a mass email when the time comes.

Will the RPG Codex statue be nearby? That could be weird...

I would imagine NMA can be put in the middle of a regular town, while the Codex statue is definitely better fitted for being shoved off somewhere in a corner.

That's a great idea and would reflect how much we "owe" Brother None ingame/in this forum...and how much Brother None hates us ingame/in this forum. :p

It really seems like a lot of resources to spend on development for all of these personalized items. When you look at what is being offered from kickstarter, it seems like a bit much, IMO. I hope having to do all of these customized items for people doesn't end up burning in to time that should have been spent making a great game.

With only a year of development time, and a pretty small budget, I just worry they'll be stretched thin by putting all of these things in the game.

Actually, all the 1000-dollar tiers are just names on NPCs/weapons/locations they'll otherwise work on normally. This bar isn't being added, it's a normal bar they'll now name NMA.

The statue/shrines will take a little more work, but those people deserve it at the amounts they're putting in. You gotta spend money to make money.

This is awesome. I'm not sure these devs realize how easily they can just take my money now. This is three WL2 related contributions for me so far. *facepalm*

I do not think that is the right expression, although i get what you are saying.

Have to say it is fun to watch the news about gaming today, allot of good things are coming along after years of literary dumb games. Kickstarter fore one has given me a opportunity to be a part off making games, and hope this will in the long run kill the mega dinosaur industry. By going to the gamers directly instead going to the publisher, marking department and stupid management, we may see great game like wasteland, fallout, day of the tentacle, Lands of lore (bit torn about 2 3 tho) and might and magic series in new incarnations.

when i was 7 year old i played wasteland white my older brother, later fallout with my friend. Some of the best memories i have from there.

Heh. Not to get cocky, a statue is certainly more fit to be a sort of a "secret" that you have a sense of achievement upon finding in the spread of the wasteland, whereas a bar would be appropriate for a more down-to-earth, less obvious addition to a town or settlement on the beaten track. Just my two caps.

I am not looking for any specific reward, but something like would be awesome, if possible.

just put in $35 in to the mix, nearly there guys!

Nearly? We already overshot our goal. Our current amount is at 1160 of a required 1000. About 1100 factoring in Paypal's thieving fingers. So yeah, no more donations are needed! Welcome, and they'll still go to WL2, but we might close the widget soon.

Addendum: UPDATE!

The widgit will be up just a little longer since we've been asked to delay the donation for a while anyway.

Brian Fargo said he's fine with the idea of naming the bar No Mutants Allowed and then putting a clipboard in it with "tabs left open" listing our own pledgers and their names/amounts. I will send out a mass email about this to our pledgers once the Chipin closes. I will use the Paypal-tied-in email for that so PM me if it's not the one you use.

What a great news! I am so looking forward to see my name on the list! (I hope real name :))

And I maybe suggest to leave this donation open till the very last day. It is good to get as much as we can.

So far I am at $265 +$10 ... Maybe I will get more for NMA later, but right now I have empty pockets....

That's plain fucking awesome. Eve if the game is shit we can at least say we owe brother none within the shitty game some money, hell yeah!

Both ideas are great 8-)
