Reactions to the GI scans

Frankly, I think we might already felt into the hype hole created by P-and-T. The more we argue, the bigger the voice, the louder the reaction, the more attention from outside. :?

It won't. Not long before GI was about to release the official sticky's been posted by Gstaff that they are not allowing scans or transcripts or links to them. So only after sometime GI is on the shelves it may change.
Actually, I meant we will see if the BSGF administration decides to blacklist NMA.

btw, the link to NMA in Kotario's sig is still present and working, so that's not blacklisting for sure
I am Kotario.

Signatures are handled individually by moderators, so there are a large number of discrepancies. Outright pornographic content can go by unnoticed because no moderator has ever tried the innocent-looking link, while something associated with issues moderators are looking out for are handled quickly despite being much more innocuous.

Is there hope that Bethesda will hear that "bad" opinions, and take a lesson from it ? If they really are (at some moment i doubt it) fallout fans, why the fuck they made this "Fatman" or first person view, and some other crap ? Time shows if they listen, but with every next day i doub it more and more.

I see. I think they won't, there's no need in it. yet :)

I think someone already mentioned it before, but he'd flame away the Grim Reaper..

He never flamed away me, and i had some good ones with Rosh. It all comes down to interpretation and comming up with valid reasons. He wasn't as bad as most people thought he was. Off course, from time to time, especially to some newbie who wandered in and forgot to de some research first, he could be very nasty.

I somehow don't think so. More and more, they seem to come over as Chuck Cuevas did when he was creating FOBOS. Doing things his own way no matter what the fans think. The difference being that Chucky boy actually had the brass bouncing balls to post his views on these boards. So far, Beth and it's devs haven't said ONE thing regarding the game.

Wait till we see what the new repeated quote of Fallout 3 NPCs will be...
My guess is that we'll be humbled once again :P

And larf at hte dumb fucks that buy the game.

I don't think this is quite the reaction Beth was hoping for.

Still, they're too far in development now to make any radical changes, should they even want to.

And with the gaming press in their back pocket and a legion of console kiddies lapping up whatever they spew out they probably won't have to.

NMA vs THE WORLD.

Regardless of any of their tastes I can't blame anyone sometimes for hating our guts. We're pretty bitchy/pathetic a lot of the time, also very arrogant/self-righteous...

Interesting post.

As a newbie here, I appreciate all the quality Fallout information and the posters' sincere appreciation of the original Fallouts.

Nonetheless, I have been taken aback by the vitriol and general negativity in the posts towards Fallout 3 and Bethesda. Apparently, Bethesda (and probably no one else) can get anything right according to the posts.

I do think hard core sites like NMA have raised game-developer consciousness regarding the underpinnings of what makes Fallout great. I think the Fallout 3 "teaser" reflected a desire by Bethesda to satisfy the hard core fans (i.e. the members of the NMA forum).

Yet, if this site can find no good in the teaser, or the pictures, or what has been reported for Fallout 3, this site will cease to exist as a factor in Fallout 3 development -- which is too bad.

To put it another way, everyone here knows that perpetual nay-sayers and generally crabby people are totally ignored by creative types and project managers -- in a sense, they cease to exist (i.e. become irrelevant).

I should think it would be more fun to be a member of an influential site than a member of an irrelevant site.

Anyhow, end of my rant. Well stated Kan-Kerai :)

Lucky that good was found. I don't really agree with "Ignorance is excusable. Stupidity is not."

They'd need to put back the release date by another year or two to re-do things to keep people here happy, so it's a bit late to expect to make much of a difference.

So we should happily suck their e-dicks just for a chance to say if we want them to lube up first before the buggering?

Congratulations yours has to be the most stupid post of the day.

This is one of the most dangerous and wrong arguments in software development. I hope Bethesda is aware of this.

Exactly, look at Time Shift, they were 99% done but they took a look at the game and decided that it was crap, so they took another year to make it better.

I'm just glad that the scans are up as fast as they are.

The portable nuke launcher, though. Ugh.
