Anway from the screenshots at least Chris doesn't look like a steroid injected BOW anymore. Thats good.

The REmake is probably one of my most favorite games ever made. Of course, the original was awesome as well in my opinion due to its awful voice acting :D

It's a shame though that its only for the Gamecube and Wii though. I used to have a Gamecube which I played the REmake on, but it broke eventually.

That's about as likely as a Final Fantasy VII remake, sure it would make a crap ton of money and re-engage the company with it's core audience while helping recover it's reputation but...

I really enjoyed it until the tidal wave explosion. Cinematic bullshit. Still not back to the horror roots it seems, but it looks like fun. Fuck the QTE shit already too. Really! Resident Evil has been transformed into Gears of War with the new C(ock) virus. God help us all. I miss Resident Evil 2. I miss suspense without massive explosions and QTE cutscenes. I miss when games weren't about co-op multiplayer.
 
I remember being scared shitless of this Nemesis Zombie in Resident Evil 3. A shame to see another game going the "OMFG AWESOME" route.
 
I have ultimatley given up on one of my favorite franchises. There will never be a game like the remake and Code: Veronica. If this is how Resident Evil wants to contitue it's legacy, I'll stick to the many other games that are coming out.

I like the idea of a tidal wave explosion, I think it's fun (fuck realism). That said, for Resident Evil it may not fit and the retarded way they did it (explodium cars is right, fucking stupid) hurts a bit.

QTEs and sloppy controls were my two complaints with RE4 and it looks like the haven't fixed at least one of those. I like co-op, it's a good option to have but it sounds like RE5 had it impact the singleplayer game significantly.
 
RE 4 Did a hell of a lot better at delivering a survival horror experience than RE 5.
 
Having a companion inmediately kills any sense of horror or suspense. The bit where you have slowly walk between cells containing the Lickers in RE5 would have been a pretty good moment of horror, but they messed it up making it an endurance Hoard mode level, by the time you kill the 20th Licker in a row they kind of stop feeling menacing.
 
What really got me worked up: Sheva.

Who is she? Why is she assigned to you? Why is she a important character? WHY DID SHE HELP KILL WESKER!?
 
She was part of the BSSA who is tryign to stop the Umbrella developed viruses to cause another Raccoon city.

She was there because there was an article claiming RE5 was racist because you played as a white male in the Military killing black people.

It really is a sad day for console gamers. Which of your favorite series did they turn into a Gears clone? There are quite a few now . :lol:
 
This really makes you like developers like Obsidian and InXile, who actually care about the games they are making. They didn't have money to make a game, but thanks to the pledgers, they now have a good enough sum to create a gem. They know this won't be a blockbuster, but at least they stick to their classic roots, and not to the bandwagon that's has a magority of developers/publishers on it. :evil:
 
I got more than my money's worth out of RE5 because of the coop, so I'm fine with RE6 sticking to that formula. They're probably never going to 'return to their roots' because IMO that sort of thing just doesn't hold much mass-market appeal today. There are still 'true' survival horror games being made on the indie front though, check out Lone Survivor.

The PC version did most certainly did. There wasn't even official mouse support, you had to get a mod to do a half-assed job of emulating your mouse as an analog stick.

Another 'fun' little tidbit was that every command displayed a number (1-9) instead of the key it was actually bound to. This means that during QTEs, you'd see retarded shit like:

MASH 4!!!
ALTERNATE BETWEEN 6 and 7!
HIT 1!

Where 4 might be R, 6 and 7 could be Space and Mouse2, and 1 may be Left Control.
 
The PC port sucked, everyone knows that. It came out Long after the original game, and only modders even gave a crap about it. The console version, wich is THE proper version, had pretty good controls. QTEs where still kind fo annoying,
