I think Capcom ran out of ideas.

They never had any idea to start with, I'm so jaded with game companies nowadays I'm starting to think "gaming" is a waste of time - but yet, I'm drawn back to my old favorites (1994 - 2004), they still bring a dry smile to my face. Oh please release Wasteland 2 soon, I need hope again.

I know how you feel .Pixote., its sometimes hard to imagine that at some point you were really into gaming to the point that you could not wait to come home from work or school to spend hours into games that portrayed worlds far more interesting than reality.

Well, I tend to disagree. I have enjoyed many of their Resident Evil games, and Street Fighter still kicks ass, but they have alienated a lot of people with their DLC bullshit, mishandling of the Mega Man game, and various other issues. But as a whole, yes, things could be a lot better.

I'm not saying I don't like their games, I do. Such as -

Breath of Fire
Devil May Cry
Dino Crisis
Ghosts'n Goblins
Mega Man
Resident Evil

But they suffer from the same intellectual malaise that seems to have struck all the big companies, and just build the same old stuff, and it's sad. Resident Evil 6,7,8,9,10+, we have so much to look forward to in the next 10 years from Capcom.

I'm amazed that people still care about RE story. After Code: Veronica the plot became a clusterfuck and as long as the series sells there will never be an ending. Basically it's the equivalent of superhero comics.

I sticked with RE up to RESI 4 but RE5 is so unplayable to me due to the retarded sidekick AI.
And I also miss the inventory system from RE4.

Resident Evil is one of the few series still around that almost always pumps out a good game. Sure RE5 sucks without a (real) partner, but with a partner, it is one of my favorites. Even those light gun games for Wii were fun.

It is kind of like Zelda. Zelda games are always decent, only not so good when compared to Ocarina of Time.

And you do not talk about Operation Raccoon.

That's exactly how I feel towards Resi 6. There seems to be no damn ending to the series.
T Virus zombies/creatures= gone
Las Plagas= gone
Ouroborous (how the heck do you spell that?!)= gone
Pivotal villains of the series (Spencer, Birkin, Wesker)= dead and buried
Now I feel that Capcom are pulling the cheesy trick of bringing in the villain's unheard of son in order to help establish a story

I do however feel that Resi 4 was an amazing game, even if it is different to its predecessors. Resi 5 was good in my opinion as well, I felt it gave the series a good ending with Wesker's death.

Wesker's son knows he is Wesker son, and he is not the villain, while RE is far from being a good story, the plot of RE6 seems to pick up from the plot point in RE5 and RE degeneration about the Umbrella virus being sold in the black market to terrorists and everyone freaking out about trying to prevent another Raccoon city and failign a lot of times (like in Revelations).

resident evil in itself is a game with low potential story wise and content wise..theres only so much you can do with a zombie apocalypse..i enjoyed Res 10 years in the past but nowadays it seems hardly worth the time and braincells..id rather spend time playing the much anticipated warhammer 40k: Dark millennium much so than any other new game out there..but thats just me im a warhammer fan i even collect the imperial guard army miniatures, played an apocalypse scenarios 6v6 players and i lost only 1 guy..to a commissar..

Yeah, but why the throwaway characters Helena and Piers? Jill, Claire, Ada, Barry or Rebecca could do better

Sherry has potential, same with Jake. But seriously, we will never hear of Sheva or Parker again, why keep making them?

People would really call Capcom lazy if they used previously established characters. Claire doesn't have the training for stuff like that. Jill will probably show up anyway. Same with Ada. So we get 3 series mainstays, and 3 new guys, one of whom is related to the series biggest villain. I think something bad will happen to either Piers or Harper. They are kinda like the "red shirts" of RE.

But Sherry's character begged closure after RE2, and I'm glad they thought to move with their fans like that.

Some characters shouldn't, or wouldn't come back to begin with. The only one I would want to see come back is Barry, but he is more worried about his family.

That GC remake is my favorite in the series.

That's about as likely as a Final Fantasy VII remake, sure it would make a crap ton of money and re-engage the company with it's core audience while helping recover it's reputation but...
