Fallout 2 mod RPU - Talking Heads Addon

Not sure what characters to add now (aside from companions) so I'm open to suggestions

Well, since you asked :3 I have a huge list in mind, so I'll put just those I think would be the most important, and in order of importance (in my opinion of course)

Mom from the Den, Rose from Modoc, Stark and Dr. Troy from Vault City,
Skeeter and Festus from Gecko, Doc Johnson, Marge LeBarge and Dan McGrew from Redding, Father Tully, Ethyl Wright, Jagged Jimmy and Stuart Little from New Reno, and Micky from Broken Hills.

Important information, I never visit the following locations: Sierra Army Depot, Mariposa Base, San Francisco, Hubologists, Shi, Brotherhood of Steel, Navarro, and Enclave Oil Rig, so I can't say anything about NPCs from there.
And yes, I still didn't finish the game. In fact, I started it not so long ago, and I already restarted it... like 5 or 6 times ^^"
Because... I'm eccentric if something goes wrong I have to start all over again

Another important thing is that in my opinion, you could start doing head for other games, like Fallout 1, in which the most important heads in my opinion would be for all the companions. And for the mod Resurrection. Although, I don't remember the most important NPCs But the game is awesome

Funnily enough I wanted to make a mod like this for Resurrection first but was having trouble compiling the scripts. TH for Mira the barlady in NCR was supposed to be for one of the Resurrection companions :D

Oil Rig:
How about Dr. Curling in the Oil Rig? He has a pretty cool dialogue.

Broken Hills:
- Doc Holliday

Arroyo:
- Klint in New Arroyo, because Klint Companion Mod.

Den:
- Tyler

Vault City:
- Randall
- Dr. Troy
- Phillys

Redding:
- Athabaska Dan

Gecko:
- Wooz. Flavorful and funny as hell. I want to see someone voice him someday for the lulz - can you imagine full-voiced "I won! Fuck you! You are dumb. I have crushed you. Now I can build an even better deck with your cards." Glorious.
- Gordon. Tied to the Renewal Cult of the Brain and the ending with the energy deal to Vault City.
- The Brain

NCR:
- Dr. Henry (its cool that he's already in New Vegas, so there's base there. then again he's like super-old in there. He's what, 60-80? Do we even know his age by FO2?)
- Merk


Vault 13:
- Grunthar in Vault 13.
- Dalia from Vault 15 and then Vault 13 would be cool. She was a cool character. She would need two talking heads tho, with the second one having dyed black hair and metal armor. She's kinda unique because she shows up in two locations.

San Francisco:
- Matthew (maybe for the first BOS guy in Den too)
- Badger
- Captain Ron A. Meyers
- The Dragon
- Lo Pan
- Lao Chou
- Dr. Wong Yi Tze
- Dr. Fung
- Mai Dai Chiang

New Reno:
- Eldridge

Navarro:
- Dr. Schreber
- Base Commander (then again, he IS in Advanced Power Armor)

RP-only characters:
- Kaga
- Shadow-Who-Walks
- The EPA companions (Cat Jules, Kitsune and Dexter)
- EPA Directors

As I understood it, the dev team had hoped to create a lot of heads, but later realized that it took like six weeks to make one (or near abouts)... So there were just a few included in the game(s). What I like about this is that it immediately identifies the important NPCs. Sure, there are some that deserve a full head [some on the list above], but only a few—not every single one of them. ~[IMO]

*Reason being that some [even many] are better left to the imagination; Ronesco and Algernon for instance. I doubt that a visualized face could do justice [for me] to my imagined visage of those two, and others in the game.
If they all have heads, it kind of diminishes what was special about it.

Thanks for the list Slaughter :D Forgot about some of these characters! Already working on a couple of those names. Klint is already in the last version I made, I think.
Gruthar is covered too, although he is just a static image. I'm hoping to update his in the future to an animated one.

I won't be covering every NPC though :lol::lol::lol: don't think I have the patience for that lol

Honestly I fully agree,

Initially this mod was only going to cover a few main plot related NPCs (was mostly making this for myself) but noticed that a few people actually like this mod, something I wasn't expecting, so I've been adding to this in my spare time. I might release a version of this with only a few important NPCs (like McClure and Metzger) and maybe the rest of the companions so it's more akin to vanilla Fallout 2.

There will be a few NPCs I won't cover. For example you mentioned Renesco, his writing is really good and it's really easy to picture him as a character and his reactions to the player, something I would never be able to convey with a talking head.

I know you are busy with Talking Heads for Fallout 2 right now, but what about Fallout vanilla/Et Tu at an unspecified time in the future?

Never really considered Fallout 1 Et Tu since it has like double the amounts of talking heads, but sounds like a nice idea! Maybe once I'm done/satisfied with this one :-D

That would be amazing! Imagine Tycho's talking head with his gas mask and googles, or furious Zimmerman, after he finds out what The Regulators did.
 
Maybe someone will fix the game so that if Zimmerman survives the regulator fight [which happened for me], the AI doesn't go hostile and try to kill the vault dweller.

For me this a disadvantage, because I
subconsciously treat characters without Talking Heads as inferior to the story, where that is not always the case ( McClure and Lynette is a good example).

But you are right that probably all Fallout players have their own imagined versions of NPCs already.

I think the best solution would be full customization of which talking heads you want to add to your game, or if that is not possible, then to have at least two versions of this mod: "lite" with only the most essential ones, and "full" - well, quantity here is fully up to the mod's author.
 
New update: not a lot new characters added (3 including Goris) as I was mostly focused on improving ones I already made, for example Dogmeat and Gruthar now have a new animated portrait :D

Looks great!

You can make some slight changes (there shouldn't be any bigger and more impressive deathclaw than Gruthar as he is an alpha male and the leader of the pack after all) and you automatically will create Xarn - captive in Navarro.
