Rumour: Bethesda to reveal sci-fi open-world game Starfield at E3 2017

BREAKING NEW E3 LEAK ABOUT LATEST BETHESDA SERIES!!!

That leaves three more in-development titles, two of which Howard has said are "bigger than everything we've done [before]", and will likely arrive before The Elder Scrolls 6.

Wasn't this said for Fallout 4?

@Bloodway

Lmao, dude. 4Chan is not a credible source. I'll eat a dick if that information turns out to be true.

it seems that Bethesda is making a new IP called "Starfield" that is supposedly set in the Fallout universe in the far future, what does everyone feel about this?

I'm sure people can hardly contain themselves in all the excitement. It is sure to be an instant classic and a masterpiece of the ages.

That franchise merge was a running joke and an insult back in the day. The idea that it actually might happen is laughable. But then again, it's Bethesda and they don't give a shit; they have a swarm of coprophages on the leash that, like meth addicts, will buy and feast with eyes wet on unyielding gratitude on any kind of matter Pete and Todd will shit out and put on a plate.

More seriously: Sounds fake as a wooden dime (the merge, that is, not Starfield).

This whole thing reads like a fanboy fever dream. Not only that but the "leaker" has slipped up a couple of times.
One, he says he is a "professional leaker" at Bethesda. There is no such thing as a "professional leaker" in the game industry. Most game companies try to keep their games under wraps and revel little as possible in order to generate hype. This is not like with Ghostbusters where the leaker worked at Sony and had script and everything. How we knew that one was real was because Sony tried to take everything that the leaker put up down. Bethesda has done no such thing with this "supposed leak".
Two, he slipped and called Starfield Star Citizen. He made the excuse of "oh I was tired and up all night" excuse but if he was someone who worked at Bethesda he wouldn't confuse a title his supposed company made with that of a indie game.
Three, his writing style and grammar comes off as someone who is in their teens or is really immature. For fuck sakes, he ends one of his post with a picture of Todd Howard saying that he can't wait to laugh in the face of haters and doubters. That did not come off as someone who is a grown professional.
Four, its fucking 4chan and /v/. Do you know how many cancerous fake leaks have come out of /v/? A fucking lot! Hell, someone on the Codex was able to trick /v/ into thinking he was Josh Sawyer. Kotaku and VG247 should be ashamed that they made articles on this supposed leak but then again I expected nothing less from todays gaming journalist.
What I am loving though is seeing how many gullible people believe this fake leak(there is always a sucker born every minute). Mainly because Bethesda is so horrible of a game developer that people aren't putting it past them to make something as stupid and awful as a merged cinematic universe type thing for their games. Really speaks to the quality at Bethesda.

I for once couldn't care less for whatever Bethesda is making.
I don't care about Fallout and I don't care about TES anymore, I don't care if they fuse both together, I don't care if they make MMO or single player, I don't care if they make mobile games, I just don't care.
And it is not just Bethesda, I don't care about 99% of game studios and rumors about games, I only really care once games are released.

The only way I will care is if they end up with a good game in the end.

Fallout is dead so....

I think you are overestimating people a bit there, remember Pete Hines has the same attitude and he is a high ranking member of the company. Pettiness knows no pay grade.

Had to think for a while on what to say on this.

First, I think this is just something a fan made up and then took on a life of its own, and now lots of others latch on the idea because it is something they want to see.
Personally I find this a stupid idea and it makes me think that someone wanted to bring the shared movie universe concept to Bethesda's games.

Second, should the ridiculous happen and it is is true I really hope it will seriously fail and create such a backlash that even the most die hard Bethesda fans have to face that their unquestionable idol company screwed up majorly again and damaged the Fallout franchise even further.

Whatever happens, should the Fallout franchise ever be passed on (unlikely) then a partial or full reboot would be even more likely in order to get all of this "junk" out of its concept and lore.

I'm likely to believe that the next Bethesda game is a Sci-fi game.
I've heard about this a few years back and it would make a bit of sense.

They trademarked the name Starfield a while back so that info is nothing new and has been known for a while. The "leaker" is using info we already know and mixing it with his fanboy fever dream.
