So, can we talk about what Fallout 4 does well?

the things i honestly love about fallout 4 are

the power armor literally feels like a tank. i love it.
the downtown boston and surrounding area are gorgeous, open world, even though a lot of places do not have a map marker. also, the glowing sea is definitely fun to stomp around in with power armor
the enemies actually use cover, and seem the ai and shooting are vastly improved
weapon mods and power armor mods are fun also, but now that ive been through all the mods, i feel there a bit lacking in some areas. cant quite pinpoint what though.
happy they got rid of the weapon repair. it was annoying as hell.
the landscape, sky, and atmosphere are gorgeous, and very immersive, even for being bright.

things i dont like

there are no specialty ammo types, or reloading benches. thought that was an excellent addition to new vegas.
the story is easy to tell what happens. god, the story sucks so bad.
needed more companion quests, that really immersed you more with the history of each companion.

I think my favorite thing is the audio tapes I haven't heard a cheesy one yet. I especially like the one with the girl experimenting with radiation those hit the feels hard.

Vault 114 Interview #87 with Soup Can Harry for position of Overseer. It had better voice acting than the main characters, and was genuinely amusing. Sad that this 0.1% of the game was better than the actual main quest in terms of quality and voice acting.

Exploration. And the audio logs.

These are unfortunately the only things keeping me playing at this point, along with the computer terminals.

I'm going to take a break from panning Fallout 4 and attempt to dive back in and see if it gets any better but I doubt it.

Another thing Fallout 4 does right is allowing you to speed run and kill the villain in 5 minutes.

The music is good, but like Skyrim and its use of tracks from Morrowind, I'm hearing a number of tracks that are taken from Fallout 1 and 2 for background music. Unlike Skyrim however, those don't belong to games Bethesda made, and every time I hear them, they stick out and remind me of those games and wh made them.

And that's a major reason why I can no longer enjoy this game. It constantly reminds me, by sound and by design, why this isn't a good Fallout game and it sucks my enthusiasm away until even lackluster games look better.

Meh. People need to get it through their head that Shaun isn't necessarily "the villain" of the game. It's almost impossible to paint Fallout 4 in black and white.

At the very worst the Institute/Shaun are a chaotic neutral type faction. I'd honeslty lump the BoS in there right with 'em.

So within 10 minutes of giving the game a 7th chance I have encountered a bug where if I travel too far away from Preston Garvey at a certain point in the game, I automatically fail a quest called Raider Troubles at Sanctuary Hills which pops up and fails without any other notification, saying then that I need to speak to Preston Garvy and tell him Sanctuary Hills will not be giving us support, whatever the hell that means. There's also no marker placed on Mr. Garvy for this purpose, and he's nowhere to be found. I am apparently not the only one getting this.

The vault boy is the wrong icon for Fallout 4, the right icon is BUGS Bunny.

With the way everything is animated you kind of expect Bugs Bunny to jump out a magazine and start dancing.
They did do a kind of nice job on the SPECIAL chart animations though.

Oh they do, it's nice visually but I still grimace every time I look at that perk chart abomination.

Here they do avoiding combat one time out of this stupid game.

That voice acting in ABYSMAL and the dialogue options suck as usual.

Just thought I'd add that Fallout 4 has really improved the feral ghouls - I love how they move, how they crawl out of tight spaces, and jump at you like the film version of World War Z. It is really good.

Of course, they're sad that you would want to get out of combat!

Yeah instead of shutting down it blows up like a nuke from The Great War because all machinery explodes like a nuke for...reasons. It's a good thing some kid didn't bad mouth one like she did before the war or else the neighborhood would get nuked. Can someone tell me why this game exists? Seriously.

>All machinery has been stated to be nuclear powered for some times.
>Why does it explode like a nuke!?

Because it is? They even mention Mr Handy robot's nuclear cores several times.
