But... Nothing as bad as ghoul kid in a fridge or Little Lamplight.
Like the story is marginally better than what they've done before for "faction storylines" but that isn't saying much.
I don't think there's anything quite as idiotic as that on any of the Elder Scrolls games either. Bethesda has a special hatred on their hearts for Fallout lore. Todd, Emil and Hines all are pretty explicit about how they don't take the setting seriously at all on each and every one of their interviews when the topic gets mentioned.
What do they Eat?

Hm, true. Why buy a series that they despise?

Pete Hines has flat out said that they don't have to respect any of the lore of the previous games when people were giving him shit for the Kid in the Fridge quest in Fallout 4.

If they don't give a shit about lore and internal consistency, i don't give a shit about your setting and your games.

Yeah, paraphrasing Pete about Ghouls kid in a fridge was something along the lines of "I don't care about realism in a world with mutants and lasers".
Pete is fucking cancer and should be fired ASAP Rocky.

That's not even what he said, he said "We don't have to be beholden to content from 20 years ago."

Kid in a fridge is just wild wasteland or the tardis encounter without having to take a perk.
No. Wild Wasteland events and the special encounters are only witnessed by the player, this shit quest has multiple characters in it.

The one i was mentioning was from 2017. I couldn't find the tweet, but i did find a Reddit thread that mentioned it:

And sadly, they were never held accountable for that blunder.

"BUT KINGOFV14, THE GAME IS BETTER NOW MAN!?"
Yeah, the updates & everything about it now was really damage control on what they've done with the game at launch, in order to appease the angry mob. And would you look at that, the general public actually fell for it, it's a flipping crime people stopped being so hard on them after that.

:?

Because coming up with a brand new IP takes far more work than just taking an existing one and recycle most of it. Bethesda wanted to do Elder Scrolls with guns but obviously couldn't do that with the actual Elder Scrolls, so getting a niche but well liked franchise from a dying company where one of the main methods of attack is guns was the obvious way to go about it.

They probably disqualified some comments due to settings. THere is a setting for "offtopid discussion", did you click to include it? Cause if not then it gets filtered out of the score.
Which conveniently happens to mostly discount negative reviews.

Even if I were to presume there's no foul play. I would still place the opinion of someone who actually bought and played the game above the caprices of some obscure closed source algorithm who no one outside of Valve knows exactly how it works.

Oyeah don't get me wrong, I absolutely believe this system is used to sway the reception of a game in a more favorable direction.
Just saying, the way they're using it is probably this.

Yknow, a bunch of people during the 1st week who preordered and got to play the game early, if they left a review and then refunded the game before the time was up their reviews were outright REMOVED.

So there's ABSOLUTELY some fucky wucky going on.

We gotta remember that Bethesda is technically owned by Microsoft now, so this wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
Hmmmm, is there some fucky wucky about Microsoft I've missed out on?

[edit]

Also, yknow how porn can be an indicator as to how successful something is? Starfield currently has 23 entries on Rule34. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. They mad the mommy horny as fuck for you and yet completely failed to capitalize on the dommy mommy kink, sad!
