Supposed Spoilers from /v/

I'm hoping this isn't true, not because I think its dumb(er than usual), but because its just so obvious. Come one, mate, who didn't predict 'and then john was an android' plot-twist from the get go after learning of the institute?

Anyone who actually paid attention to the dialogue would know that the Courier doesn't have amnesia of any kind. Is what the Tutorial is about even...

I think "I have decided my Courier has some degree of memory loss" is a reasonable interpretation of the character, and you can choose to play it that way (i.e. that you're someone who's been here before and should know this stuff, but for whatever reason it's hazy). But it's not the only way to play the character, as you can just as easily play someone who remembers everything, or never knew this stuff to begin with.

So the Courier is not written as someone with Amnesia, but the Courier isn't really written as anyone in particular save for a few things (was Courier #6, traveled to the Divide a lot, etc.) So if you want to assume your Courier was born in Nipton but doesn't remember hardly anything, that's a character you can play and the text will never contradict that.

So they really went for the android twist, apparently. Wow, that's just... you know what? Bethesd-ish, that's what it is.

No, it's confirmed fake. We already have the cutscene of what happens to the Wife and Babyafter getting inside the Vault.

I must maintain that that cut-scene doesn't really confirm anything, as the "pre-programmed memory" could still be happening - IF - the protagonist is an android.
Harkness had an entire life of memories, and those could easily include wives shot and babies kidnapped

Anyway, the countdown is nearing zero, so, we're gonna find out soon enough!

We'll see!
I really don't think Beth is above this kind of stupidity, I mean... "the railroad" and Harkness, and that chick who follows you just to bother you about that - it was remarkably stupud allready and gave "winks" to the future game, which we now know will be about "the institute" and all that stupid crap, so - it IS as stupid as it seemed it would be

the only question is - is it SO stupid, that you, the role-play protagonist - will not only have a baby pushed in your face, a love-for-baby pushed in your face, but fuck it, you're not even a person - pushed in your face - are they THAT stupid???

I say POSSIBLY! The video of the wife getting shot could simply be the final chapter of an elaborate fake memory fed to this robot - and also an incentive for this robot to go on some goose-chase that will cleverly, twistedly, turn into something else, like, maybe you got a secret nuke hidden up the rectum or something - a butt-snuke

Who knows?

In 3, it was about a son looking for his father. Now, it's a father looking for his son. It's like poetry, it rhymes.

The Sole Survivor is a funnier character than we've ever had before in Fallout. He's the key to all this. Hopefully it'll work.

I'm really curious what would lead the protagonist of Fallout 4 to conclude that his or her son is still alive 200+ years after they were born. I mean, you'd have to know what ghouls are before you even considered that as a possibility.

I imagine it's more along the lines of him/her still being in shock from seeing their spouse shot in front of them along with being frozen immediately after.

The rumour going around now is John/Jane Fallout is a clone and Vault 111 is a experiment that releases clones of the original inhabitants every couple of years and a raider group interrupted this current batch of clones.

That's somehow worse than androids... Clones? In Vaults?
Hahahaha GAAAARY!

It makes you almost wish that this is the truth ... I mean com on, this simply has to be seen as a stupid plot by any normal human beeing. Anyway, I doubt that it's true.

Which makes me curious about something, why was your character woken up and frozen again exactly in the right moment where his wife got killed and that brat kidnapped? Is there some explanation for it ... or do we have to take it as coinsidence?

Maybe automated response to someone entering the vault? Maybe due to some hardware limitations all pods have to be "defrosted" simultaneously?
But Bethesda is most certainly not going to address it. It was obviously only done for drama, but they could make the effort and at least give some justification.
