The Guns and Ammo Thread

Your aunt is a moron, treating a weapon like a toy.

Are you retarded? There's clearly a gunlock in the trigger guard. Besides, when did striking a pose with a weapon make someone a moron? When you suddenly flipped the world upside down with the authority to deem so?

Rule #1 - Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.

Rule #2 - never put your finger on the trigger unless you are prepared to fire.

Rule #16 - Striking a pose with a firearm is just plain stupid.

I'm thinking about this rifles (all cheap enough and allowed to buy, just need to join some hunters community or get permission from local pig):

"TOZ" shotgun, living history of russian hunting weapons, since 1902
12g (also 16g but rare)

"МЦ-20" magazine shotgun, AFAIK for professional hunting with bullets, but looks nice for fun shooting
20g (I saw in 32g also)
12.jpg

"Saiga" (based on AK)
Not sure this one is available or not.
Calibers: 12 and 20

"ИЖ-43"
Very common weapon, i don't like anything common, but it good enough, reliable etc
12g

Which one will be better?

I think you're wrong, as you lack the qualifications to make that call.

Also, her finger is not on the trigger, my aunt is not prepared to fire. (look at the trigger lock)

Edit: I reduced the image size of the gun-toting betties from 1922, for those who are sensitive to large picture sizes.

DammitBoy, stop being such a stick in the mud. like you've never goofed around with a weapon you had previously checked...

and Werwolf, what is your aim? what are you going to hunt?
(that said, i'd strongly suggest and over & under instead of a side by side for hunting)

what are you going to hunt?
humans not hunt, just shoot for fun. Probably also dogs (sometimes if they many, municipal dudes give money for killing dogs) to protect house mabbe I just like weapons.
It possible to hunt ducks also in spring time

So which one?

ps Please please do something with big picture, dont post pictures if you dunno how to make it smaller!!111

Hey, I'm not saying I wouldn't give any one of them a taste of my 9mm if you know what I mean.

Yes, I am afraid I do know what you mean. :P

Regardless I am sad, I used to have so many good ones but I cannot find the website anymore. Sometimes my back up plan in life of "If all else fails convert to Judaism and move to Israel" does not seem like such a bad idea.

Nope, only retards goof with guns.

(back on topic +1)

I bought a weird little mauser today. I think it's a 7mm mauser and it has Gewehr 98 markings and a 1917 stamp.

I've never seen one like it and I think it might be a civilian model. It doesn't look like any military version I've ever seen and it doesn't appear to be altered. I've been searching the net and can't find a pic of anything that looks like it.

I'll post a pic of it tomorrow.

Google for "Gewehr 98 7mm Mauser".

Thanks, I would have never thought of that.

On further inspection, it seems to be a sporterized version with the handguard removed and the fore-end shortened to eliminate the bayonet lug. Although the work was very well done.

*shrugs*

I only gave $175.00 for it, so now I have to decide if I want to go to the trouble of refurbishing it or completing it's road to customization. I've looked around and I can get a WWII stock in good condition for about $100.00. I don't know if I want to do that, since this is a WWI weapon.

Suggestions?

I think it should be returned to the state it was created. It's always fun to have historical originals.

I agree, the problem will be finding a stock for the shorter Karabiner Gewehr 98a.

The barrel on this thing only measures 23.5" from the head. It's also a step-down barrel, not tapered. So I can't just put a regular K98 stock on it. K98's have a barrel length of 29".

Plus, except for being chopped, this stock is in beautiful shape and the wood appears to be teak.

just slapping on an old stock won't make it 'original'.

anyhow, a lot of Mausers have been modified between and after the wars, since most european countries did not allow guns to be owned in 'military' chamberings.

it's not a big deal.

how accurate is it? you might slap a modern stock on it & make it a sniper?

a Saiga would be good for that. especially quick follow-up shots (more than one) if you intend to shoot dogs, i imagine.

If you have about $4300.00 CND to spend, and a restricted firearms license, it shouldn't be a problem.

However the restricted firearms license is a bitch to get, and depending on your financial situation 4300 dollars can be as well. The ammunition isn't cheap either, buying it in large quantities is the only sure way to get decent pricing.
