rolling block .22? didn't even know they made that...

Google search remington rolling block under images.

They made all kinds of rolling blocks - .32's being pretty common. They made a few take-down versions as well.

The one I bought is a smooth bore in a hex barrel. Some had rifling, some did not.

It's not a c-mag, it's a Betamag:

My 100 round Betamag magazine is the shit. It comes with a handy carrier, a tube of graphite lubricant powder, a loader assist, and a mag well cover. It lets you put 100 rounds of .223 goodness in the same amount of space a 20 round mag takes up. Great in case of zombie attack. The thing works like a swiss clock, no jams, no misfeeds, no problems at all. As you can see in the pic, it has a clear lens on the backside so you can see how many rounds are left in the mag.

They were selling for $299.00 before Obamania kicked in at the gun shows, now they are running $350.00 each. I should have bought one last year. But, if Obama re-inacts the assault weapons ban, I expect to see the value on this sucker double within a year.

I can also use it on any of my AR-15 system guns, I didn't get it specifically for the Carbon 15 P97S. But it looks fucking wicked on it, huh?

What's wrong with a match grade fluted 7.5" heavy barrel? If it's good enough for my Ruger Mark III, it's equally valid on another gun, wouldn't you agree? (waits for snotty know-it-all response)

AZ-C15P97.jpg

This is what the barrel looks like with the cover off.

I have a Ruger Mark II 50th anniversary, which is a great target pistol, but the Mark III's fit, finish, and shootability is better in my opinion.

ps - Just about everything I do is because I can...

pps - Oh yeah, cronicler - I wouldn't recommend shooting the P97S offhand - I suppose you could, but I plan on holding onto the front handguard as well.

'match grade' .223 only really works if it's like 18'-20'. :)

at 7' it hardly matters if it's match grade or not. even if you reload specifically for short barrel (most likely using weak shortburning pistol powder in an intermediate cartridge then?), i doubt you'll get any 'matchgrade' out of that that can't be beaten into the ground by a .22LR, my dear DammitBoy.

Thanks for not disappointing with the snotty, snide, know-it-all, condescending response. I knew I could count on you.

In this case, I would consider the use of the term 'match grade' to imply higher quality materials, manufacturing, and finish as opposed to indicating superior accuracy.

The 7.5 chrome, fluted, heavy barrel used in the Bushmaster is very well made - especially when one could argue that there wouldn't be much of a performance loss by using an inferior cheaper production barrel.

I think it speaks to Bushmaster's commitment to quality that they use a superior product in the P97S. The fit and finish on this gun is excellent.

i'm not arguing it's not a good barrel, i'm arguing that the name is laughable...

match - grade, as in "good enough for matches" implies indeed that it's fucking up to par for shooting matches.
good luck with that.

regardless of how good this barrel is made, this is just a marketing gimmick term in this case...

And I'm saying they are using the term 'match grade' as in superior materials and manufacturing process.

How can you imply that a product is up to par for a shooting match that doesn't exist?

.223Rem shooting matches generally don't have minimal barrel lengths in the rules. ;)

You mean .223 rifle matches?

I'm unaware of a .223 pistol match in existence.

you do realise that in any country with semi-decent laws, that wouldn't even be qualified as a pistol, right?

and as said: there is no limit to how short your barrel is in a .223Rem marksmanship match or even 5.56x45mm ordnance match.

Semi-decent laws? Why shouldn't it qualify as a pistol? In your little world, you'd stop law abiding citizens from owning it?

ps - Bwahahahahahahahahaha!! What a poltroon...

oh hi, i live in a country where this is legal with a collapsible colt stock and a vertical front grip...

seriously, that gas tube would never be fucking naked if it weren't for retarded gunlaws.

So what? Who cares? It's legal where I live, so quit your crying.

Umm, the gas tube is covered on my gun. I think you're acting slightly retarded. Besides which, your stance on gun laws is off-topic and silly.

My Winchester 94 in .45 long colt with the required oversized loop. One of my favorite rifles...

Thats a nice rifle DB. (Winchester 94) What's the story behind the oversized hoop if you know? (and if it's not too boring to tell here?)

Your Ruger 10/22 seems too dark coloured for my tastes but it might be because of the flash too. How is the kickback and general accuracy on these rifles?
