The Guns and Ammo Thread

So now that I am done arguing with the morons in the other gun thread, back to happier things.

Anyone here else actually interested in the Kel-Tec KSG? 14+1 in the chamber is sexy as hell. Put myself on a waiting list at the local gun store today, supposed to drop later this fall hopefully.

Interested? Yes. Have I $800 for it? No. :D

Anyway, I don't like the Kel-Tec guns, but this KSG shotgun is really awesome.

I've been contemplating the practical applications of 12 ga. Aguillas in the KSG, which I am definitely in the market for.

Oh hell yeah.

That looks frikken awesome, although I really don't like kel-tec products from handling them at gunshows and firing a friends kel-tec pistol at the range. Their stuff always seems cheaply made to me personally.

I will have to put my hands on one to decide if I will get it, but 14+1 capacity is very tasty.

As to the 12ga mini-shells - I've never used them, but I have friends who shoot sass cowboy action with them and swear by them.

I've read the ballistics, and it seems like you get decent velocity and hitting power for self-defense out to 25 yards. My only concern is the cycling issue. Some of the guys I know had to tweak their shotguns to load the minishell properly - it has a tendency to double stack the shorter rounds.

Yeah, I will handle one before I buy it, I just really like the design and idea. Pretty cool how in one chamber you could load buckshot and in the other non-lethal ammunition and switch between the two. I can see many Law Enforcement applications for that type of firearm.

That's just it, isn't it? The KSG might not fare well with the Aguilas, so, testing is needed.

Any volunteers? :D

I allways wonder how people find guns that looks like Tubes with a grip on it nice. But i guess you don't mean the ergonomic but more the technical side?

The design also appeals to the tacticool crowd, very militaryish looking. People will have all sorts of accessories slapped on them rails.

Utterly unnecessary accessories, outside of maybe a light and/or some optics. It does look cool, though my favorite is still the Pancor Jackhammer.

Also, anybody care to link/fill me into how the mechanism and what not works? There two pumps, or is there a lever or what?

The Pancor Jackhammer is to shotguns what the Desert Eagle is to handguns.

And any accessory is hardly unnecessary. There are two tubes that you load with the ammunition. A lever is flipped to switch between the tubes.

Well at least it looks somewhat better than the Neostead.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder, some folks like a lot of wood on their firearms, others like the black evile types.

think about it, I'm sure you could possibly find a woman that thinks sicblades is attractive.... ok, maybe that's a stretch.

Your wife. She's married to you though, so that doesn't say much about her taste in men in general.

That is just mean and hurtful sicblades, please try to stay on topic though - your post has nothing about gun ownership in it.

My apologies for being off topic.

I do want to get a few guns for collection purposes but it's way too much of a hassle here in Canada.

No worries lil fella, I was just teasing you, as usual. My point was really about all the people, including mods and admins, who jump in this thread and post off-topic about gun control.

Instead of these off-topic posters getting strikes or reprimands, the thread gets split and then the split thread gets vatted.

I really like this thread about gun ownership - I hate seeing it get constantly used and abused, split, vatted, deleted, and messed with.

It's a great way for those of us who are gun owners from around the globe to share our interest in firearms. It'd be nice if we could enjoy it without the off topic drama.

My concern is somebody will eventually vat one of my favorite threads on this forum because the off-topic posters are allowed to screw it up for the rest of us.

---

Gun ownership hasn't been totally banned in Canada, is it really that terribly difficult to buy and own guns in Canada, or is it just pistols? I've bought sveral firearms from the canadian firm Paraordnance for years - they make an awesome pistol.
