Why would you hack up an immune patient to get to the fungus, when you have so many options. You could study them, take blood samples, do a biopsy, whatever. But why the fuck would after maybe a day or so of getting your hands on such a rare subject immediately prep for a fatal surgery to extract a fungus that is living off of the person you have to kill to extract it. How long would the fungus even survive after you remove it from Ellie?
 
I believe the idea was that something in Ellie's brain, where the fungus had infested, was actively resistant to the infection, and they had to pick apart her brain in a way that would kill her to be able to actually analyze the nature of the resistance. I don't think blood samples would have done much.

I think if you try and explain it, it'll just make more plot holes. But the assumption is to find out how it works, they need to see how it works in Ellie's brain and that requires DISSECTION!

It's science fiction, don't question it. Otherwise you'll wonder how they're making a vaccine for a fungus (which doesn't exist in RL).

Oh, there won't be a next game because if there is one it would not sell. Look at what happened to Solo and Rise of Skywalker after The Last Jedi. You can only fool an audience once. You piss them off royally they will not pay for the next game, movie or book.

Its regained its sales momentum after a tiny dip that actually went to even bigger sales. The problem is that people assume bad publicity deters sales.

It depends on what the bad publicity entails. If it implies that the story in the movie game isn't that good then some people will buy it used or won't buy it at all.

It almost lost to a 3DS game in the second week. Also, it maybe the fastest selling Sony game but it is not the fastest selling game of all time. That was GTA 5. In fact, they don't believe that TLoU2 is going to break the first games numbers. Nice try. I eagerly await more of your delusional ramblings and excuses.

And you actually believe that this pretentious shit pile is good while everyone else is in denial or that the game isn't being given away in Asia because they can't sell it. You have yet to address me in regards to this showing how much in denial you are over this pretentious shit pile of a game. Why don't you go over to ResetEra. They might have more tolerance to you liking this game and making excuses for it. They have also banned AngryJoe for giving it a 6 and also banning everyone else who agrees with him so you might fit right in.

I also have friends in retail and who work at Gamestop and they tell me that they can't even give the game away for free. Nobody wants it or they have all returned the game to salvage whatever money they can get back. I also eagerly await you to ignore this post too.
 
Anecdotal evidence is not really helpful.

But I don't really care one way or the other. I was just saying the game was a huge success, probably because so much bad publicity meant that people bought copies to see what the fuss is all about.

It's probably why the game's plot was leaked, to generate buzz.
