Just watched "The Room", and as much it is "so bad its funny", I've rarely felt before this need to really cleanse my mind... I can't even say "hi" to people anymore, it's all ruined

Just watched Split, hailed as a "comeback" for Shyamalan HAHAHAHAHAHA
okay, decided to give it a chance. Right away it Shyamalizes all over itself, but I decided - again - to just see where it was going.

I bought it on blu-ray awhile back since I heard good things about it and holy shit it was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time! The "twist" if you can call it that actually made me go "whaa" if that makes any sense.

I just recently watched this short film called "World of Tomorrow." Holy shit, I've never felt so contemplative in years.
Watch "It's such a beautiful day" (full length), and I also love the short film "the meaning of life"
Most people only know the "rejected" one, but his more existensial bits are just mindblowing
Oh and, yeah, that trailer looks intriguing indeed

Last Lynch movies I had left to see was Straight Story and Inland Empire, not really sure why I kept delaying so much, but I always had a bit of strained relationship with Lynch. His movies are a bit - too out there, as in... "trying too hard" I guess, I was not a big fan of Lost Highway, I did enjoy Wild at Heart, and Mulholland Drive is one of my absolute favorite of all movies, not so much for the whole cryptic narrative, but just its through and through beauty

Straight Story, watched today, and I liked it. I guess it being a true story eliminated some obvioys Lynchinesses right away, but it still retained his visual style, while being remarkably subdued, just a story really, but a nice story, so nice I almost teared up a little

Thing is now it looks like it might directly
tie into Twin Peaks because I will be damned if Naomi Watts character is not the same one.
Is Twin Peaks Season 3 over? I'm waiting for the thing to finish and then binge watch it.

Definitely requires numerous re-watches, I skimmed an analysis, and I didn't get *any* of that

So went to watch Dunkirk.
Found it really boring. It's almost plotless. Feels like the last third of 3 different movies mashed together and ultimately there isn't an interesting narrative thread to latch onto or to grab the viewer. Lots of shit happens but nothing actually happens, if you know what I mean.
I feel like the movie is banking too much on the viewer either eating up patriotism and or jingoism or being history buffs.
The fact that is a PG13 War movie also makes it feel really defanged, at points I thought some soldiers where actually napping rather than lying dead on the ground until the characters point out they are dead.
I know the score is by Han Zimmer but I feel like it was trying too hard to make you feel something during every scene because not only was it loud (along with the super loud SFX which is a Stylistic "grity" choice that clashes with the pristineness of everything else) and it almost felt like it was trying too hard to compensate for any actual emotion the scenes could communicate.
It was well shot I'll give it that, but that doesn't make up for all the other things I found disengaged me from t he experience. It was a dull watch for me.
Edit: Another issue I had was that the movie did a very VERY poor job at communicating the passage of time. Apparently the battle of Dunkirk was a week long endeavor, from this movie I thought it happened in just an afternoon and a morning.
