Things we learned from Fallout 3

You didn't, what I said was, the act that you mentioned was a commonly encouraged thing to do because of the disdain for east coast BOS in these forums and how that is no different than what EnclaveForever was preaching, but no one sees the hypocrisy in that.

I don't think it's the same thing. What EnclaveForever wants to do (on his role character, I mean) is genocide. The other is just a specific faction, not everyone but them. If you'd consider this as the same thing, then Fallout 2 and Fallout 3: Broken Steel has no possible outcome different than what EnclaveForever wants to do. You either blow up (what at that point you believe is) the whole Enclave faction, or you lose the game in FO2, and you blow up Enclave of BoS on Broken Steel.
I played for the BoS, tho, as I stated in the other thread, I find Enclave inviable. I might try to play what I'd consider a more ignorant playthrough at some point as an Enclave supporter, but then gameplay is against that in FO 2 (there is no ending with Enclave winning that doesn't involve you dying) and I don't really like FO 3 enough to play it again right now, since I'm pretty f*cked up with college. I'd rather play something I'm actually addicted to if I'm going to ignore my responsibilities

I don't think it's the same thing.

Genocide is "the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, Caste, religious, or national group",[1] though what constitutes enough of a "part" to qualify as genocide has been subject to much debate by legal scholars.

Caste is a form of social stratification characterized by endogamy, hereditary transmission of a style of life which often includes an occupation, ritual status in a hierarchy, and customary social interaction and exclusion based on cultural notions of purity and pollution

Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like it fits.

The rest of my argument remains valid. Fallout 2: you must kill them all. Fallout 3 Broken Steel, you either kill the BoS or the Enclave. In fact, leaving the Enclave specifics, you do the same with mutants in Fallout 1.

Christ I find fanboys so tiresome.
Then stop visiting FANBOY sites like NMA.

You realize we aren't having a conversation IRL right?
There is no way to judge inflection or tone, simply what is written, and the fact that you chose to generalize either makes you as bad as the "masses" you detest or worse.

Which makes you a tool, who can't even put forth the effort to explain what you write.

Well then you must be a glutton for punishment if you keep visiting the same kinds of videos and expecting different results, there is a word for that you know?

Spare me the insults loser. I don't need some crying fanboy analysing and attacking every word I say. You have stated nothing of relevance in this conversation other than insult me for certain words and phrases I used, which originally had been said in good fun. Therefore you are nothing more than a douchebag troll. Fuck off.

Thats my point to begin with, genocide has been commonplace among the series. "Kill em all I say, let God sort them out", has been the relative M.O.
So that is why I questioned the upheaval on the enclave thread, the reason I brought it up in the first place because I thought it was relevant in this thread.Which brings me to this.>>

655: genocide is decried against, except when the sect in question is " a bunch of poorly written, bland, knight in shining armour characters that ruined the lore of the BoS"

I haven't really been insulting you, but if its a match of wits your after I can do a home lobotomy, and try to even the playing field.

Apparently you do, or you wouldn't have responded, and I am nothing if not an enabler.

See the above things I learned.

Wow, shit really hit the fan with this topic

Anyways, I learned -
- If you kill a female raider and are a male, their clothes will magically change to fit your needs!
- A dog at the best of times is actually seemingly a tiny bit stronger than a Deathclaw (E.g. Dogmeat)
- Random Irish and British people will randomly turn up in post apocalyptic America, although there is no way of getting them there.
- Even if you were to spend all day running, or spend all day sitting around, you will still keep the same 'average' physique and form.

Anyways, thats what I learned from Fallout 3! :salute:

TLW sleeps like a rock. Seriously, how are they asleep with all the alarms and commotion, radroaches, etc... going on during the escape?

Well then your easily fooled.
I am a huge FALLOUT 3 Fan, I care about story.
By being the 1, F3 fan that does (which I am not, MAKTA on this site),
it invalidates your statement of ALL FO3 fans.
Also not all fans of FO3 think its "the best thing EVAR"
So 2 statements invalidated.

I'm not a "F3 fan" I like every Fallout except POS in one way or another. The thing with me is that i can't stand people complaining about things they know nothing about or stuff that is just wrong.
Or even worse. People who point out flaws in 1 game and then praise another game that has the same problems in them

You don't like it when he insults you and then you decide to insult him? I think you need to take a look at your logic here.

I have actually been sleeping passt several high sounded alarms myself  If you are really tired not even the wrath of Zeus can wake you up :P

Point taken. Tho:
655. Corolary. Or a bunch of techie racists who claim to be the original pre-war US government, or brute, mutant racists.

My apologies. I wasn't in the mood to be dealing with a troll, and I try to never insult people. He wound me up the wrong way and I reacted badly. <sigh It hasn't been a good week

Well, transoceanic travels were done without lots of tech for a lot of time. Of course, one needs to assume Great Britain is at least a wee bit more civil than the Capital Wasteland is, to achieve the work it implies to build a ship. I'm hundred percent sure there was transoceanic travels in 1492, at the very least.

EDIT: The point is, if we complain (and I personally do) of the nonsense of the Capital Wasteland being completely devastated as if the bombs had fallen the very day before you start the game, for consistency, in two hundred years, some civilizations will learn the science of navigation by sea, specially considering US is probably not the only country that took measures to avoid complete social decay after the war.

okay my bad, didn't mean to marginalize or label you.

Nonsense..NONSENSE..?? THIS IS BETHESDA!!!!

But seriously, where are all the boats?
656: A ferryman travels from PL to CW and all he has to offer is hills-have-eyes fruit and a boat ride on a ship that can only handle the extra weight of a vault dweller.

Well, that's another thing that should have been explained. I just wanted to point out the travel by itself wasn't impossible. The travel without ships seems weird

And on the same note...

653:

Want to overcome racial prejudice and get ghouls and people to live together peacefully? Nope, purity or death!

Honestly, the ghouls in Tenpenny Tower were like the only pretty awesome morally ambiguous twist in the same vein as F1/F2.

How is Killing everybody for no reason a morally ambiguous twist? it literally makes killing the Ghouls the good choice, they are ungratefull killers.

If you assume the current residents of the tower don't deserve it. Maybe it makes killing the residents the good choice, since it saves time and the residents are selfish pieces of shit anyway. The non-combat long way round is pretty fun though.
