Which probably explains why Britan and France declared war on the Soviets ... oh. No they didn't. What the Soviets did in Poland was definetly wrong and terrible, and they deserve a lot of the blame, but not for starting WW2. And, they didn't start the war with Poland. For example, It was very unlikely that the Soviets would have attacked Poland on their own. So if Germany never decided to attack Poland, WW2 might have never happend.I know that I'm a bit late to the party, but the Soviet Union did start WW2 together with Germany. The invasion on Poland in 1939 was not a German invasion - it was a joint invasion of Poland by both the Soviets and the Germans meant to divide the country at the border described in the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact. More on topic here.
Not at the same time, and it was not a joint-operation. Seriously, the way you word it, it sounds like Hitler and Stalin have been best buddies or something and allies during WW2, who both started WW2 at the same time, which isn't the case.Yes, but the invasion on Poland was carried out by both parties. What started the war might have been Germans breaking their agreement, but the act itself was done by both of them.
Not to mention the invasion would have taken a lot longer otherwise.
