Tyranny Discussion Thread

Meanwhile here's hoping they tell us something about Kyros before the game's released. I really want to know more about this guy who apparently has the wits and power to wrest control of the world, and not only that, kill all the would-be heroes.

I also wonder if we'll end up fighting the characters we would normally be playing as? Picture something like this: You're walking along through no-man's land on your way to the next task Kyros has sent you on. You, along with your 2 or 3 followers, run into another group of people, who seem very similar to you group-wise. The literal hero trope stands before you, like the cast you played as in Pillars of Eternity, and you have to fight them in a semi-boss battle. I could see it working as a random encounter or something like that, like the fun easter eggs from Fallout 2.

Should we still have the option to be good? Rebel? Or be good while fooling kyros into believing we're ruthless? Play both sides? Am I asking for too much?

We will have the option to be good. That's been confirmed. It's just that "it's going to be very difficult to be good". They didn't really go into detail on that part, but I would imagine it's something like New Vegas. If you join the Legion in New Vegas, 3/4ths of the potential companions hate your guts. A huge swathe of land is controlled by the NCR, and they hate your guts and shoot you on sight if you join the Legion. Now swap it around to where the Legion controls a ton of territory and most of the companions follow the Legion. That's Tyranny in a nut shell.

So basically I imagine if you try to be a goodie two shoes, you won't be able to find hardly any companions, and lots and lots of people will hate you and try to kill you on sight for disobeying Kyros.

You assume he killed them, maybe he's goth like +100 charisma and any would be heroes joined up. I don't get the impression there is much if any rebellion, they've stressed a pretty decisive victory on the part of Kyros.

As long as it's meaningful and carve its' own mark on our hearts (with amazing cRPG's experiences, of course), I wouldn't mind. Fallout 1 was relatively much shorter than Fallout 2, but it carved mark on my heart (despite I played it after Fallout 3 and NV). I'm personally hoped it would have bitter-sweet ending(s), like Fallout 1's.
