Yer. Much better than asstard Derksen.
Jan van Halst is pretty decent, too.

Borst is more the tidbit man. Jan van Halst just sees everything, which is kind of spooky.

I doubt Derksen even watches football anymore. He just talks.

You're way too involved in this whole 'I'm from Rotterdam!' bizniz.

But I'm not. I'm from Nijmegen.

And smokes cigars.

Van Halst is really good at explaining positional play. I'm hoping he makes the changeover to the NOS now that the NOS has the rights to show the Eredivisie matches again.

You've lived in Rotterdam for a pretty long time, haven't you?

And why won't people stop referring to the system the Italians play as 4-3-3? It's not 4-3-3. They don't have 3 forwards, either on the wing or in center. They're playing 4-5-1.

PS: Gogogogogogo Romania

EDIT: France is relying almost solely on an individual moment of brilliance, no team play whatsoever. Romania's defence is doing a pretty good job of closing down on all of those indivuals.
EDIT2: Lobont = the nuts IMO.
EDIT3: Woohoo, great result for the Dutch team. The French are looking lackluster and powerless, the Romanians are looking reasonably solid (although there were quite a few things that went wrong defensively).

France was boriiiiing. Forcing Ribery - Benzema all game. Romania just played for the draw. Very boring match overall.

Holland - Italy better be worth the wait now!

No Heitinga, what the hell.

You'll be glad to hear that your favourite cannibal Boulahrouz is playing, Briosafreak. ;)
Mostly to counter Di Natale.

Kuijt on the right side now, which seems like a good choice since he can compensate for Boulahrouz' failure to come up the wing. Conversely, Sneijder on the left side would create room for Van Bronckhorst to come up the wing.

Looking forward to the match. :D

Tha canibal against Matterazzi?... call the riot police :aiee:

My comment on the France Romania game is *zzzzzzzz* and *zzzzzzz*

How the assistant referees didn't saw any of the violent tackes and punching is beyond me.

And let's not forget *zzzzzzzzz*

Now to try to find a way of making my 2 year daughter to give up on Caillou so I can watch the next game on the large TV, oh boy...

De Rossi on bench, interesting. Milan trio in the midfield which didnt work quite nicely for Milan lately.

Well done you Dutchies. Impressive from pretty much your whole team. VDS, Sneijder and Gio especially. De Jong was tidy as well. Even Khalid did well.

I told yah the Italians would implode.

If Sneijder makes another 45 minutes like the first ones today Podolski will have competition for being the best on the tournament.

Van Bronckhorst really deserved at least one goal, impeccable.

Hope the referees will be placed on a nice airplane out of the tournament tomorrow, the first goal was one of the biggest jokes I've ever seen in a large competition...

Wow, Italy got owned. I did not expect that outcome. Dutchies were really solid. Italians plain sucked. I blame it on Donadoni, they looked completely lost and disoriented, and why didn't Del Piero come out at the beginning of the second half?

Pwned!

Italy wasn't even that bad. Not their usual form, and they seemed a bit confused, but their defense was still pretty solid.

Not solid enough.

lil' Feyenoord party in there, Kuijt and el Gio heavily involved in the goals.

Best match played by any single team so far. Let's hope there's more to come.

Uh?

One of the defenders took himself out of the game, that means van Nistelrooy wasn't off-side. 100% legit goal.

Also, that referee is one of the best we have. One of the few who retreats to the background and lets the players play. He whistled a great match in the UEFA finals, he made a good call in this game not giving that Italian player his second yellow card when he (technically) deserved it.

That was weird. You could tell Toni simply wasn't moving nor shaking, and then to put in del Piero and take out di Natale was a pretty bad move.

Italy's biggest problem is they base all their width on their fullbacks. This becomes a problem when one of them is ancient and the other out of form.

What's the point of Ambrossini?

The point of Ambrossini is that Donadoni is a little Milan whore. ;x Really impressive performance by Oranje, i didn't expect such a harsh result, but all in all, well deserved, even if the Italian defense was full of holes thanks to that arrogant cunt fuck Materazzi and the mid field wasn't working at all, thanks to out of shape Pirlo and chaotic Gattuso.

Romania v France = snorefest. Mutu completely invisible, Chivu failing in offensive play, all the French starlets (except Ribery, he was solid, as usual) having no team play spirit whatsoever. ZZZZZZ. Thankfully the second match made up for that boring 'spectacle'.

One word about Poland v Germany. The Germans were simply better, they confirmed they're one of the main contenders for the cup, so no surprise there, even if we did play a solid match. I'm a little discouraged about defensive play, though. Bad positioning, failed offside traps, and WTF was Golański thinking, this kind of playing belongs in amateur football, not on Euro finals, ffs. Defensive mids too passive, not making an advantage up front, Lewandowski shooting from uncomfortable positions like a madman, bleh.

Roger did shine, though. As was said already, he completely changed the way we played. Definitely first minute man for the other 2 matches. Smolarek did a good job absorbing the defense, but so what, when Krzynówek is out of form and struggled for the majority of the second half to keep up with the pace, and Żurawski was running back and forth between the half line and the 30th meter.

Still, versus the very average Croatia, and underskilled Austria, we should get more chances. I'm still confident we can take 2nd place in the group.

Italy had completely invisible midfield and no defense. How many times did Buffon have to come out to get the ball before Dutchies did? That was ridiculous. How often had he met an attack one-on-one before this match? The defense was completely incompetent and it's Italy we're talking about! Italy fails quite often because of some dumbass coach.

So far, I have not seen a better performance than what the Dutch showed. If they play like they did today, who can survive?

Nice game yesterday, Holland's counterattacks were awesome!

Today Greece and Spain are (hopefully) going to win.

Man, Holland kicked the living shit out of Italy. I sure hope they (Italy) won't make it out of the group, always hated that team.

@ Ravager69, I totally agree. Fucking cheaters.

Greece vs. whoever 0:5, that's what I actually hope.
They are playing Sweden tonight, so unfortunately that is not very likely.
Man, the coach of Sweden got to be the worlds most boring person...
