Fallout 2 mod Unofficial Fo2 patch thread - problems, reports, suggestions

2) We can keep asking Festus for Part Requisition Form many times but get only one for the first time we talk about it to him.
You can, but he says he is unable to find it. Don't see a problem here. Either you stole it or he forgot he gave you one.

3) The blonde haired girl from Lara's gang is over friendly. She helped me to fight Metzger and was in my team.
Did you somehow lure people down to the church or lure her up to Metzger?

3) Playing dumb char I enhanced INT with mentants up to 6 and hacked into Emperor. Using option of geolocation no other line was avalible. Couldn't even locate missing tribe.
So you had enough int to see dialog lines to hack yet no other lines showed up?

With INT 10 and very high speech and science skills, I don't see any options under geolocation. There are supposed to be some?

You at least have an option to go back, right? The only other option will be about your tribe and will only appear when they have been kidnapped.

All Energy Rifles are supposed to have the Flamer sprite, so the aforementioned is an inconsistency for sure. It's just a trifle, however. As is the fact the the Bozar is making the Combat Shotgun sound. The bigger problems should take precedence.

As far as the pulse rifle/big gun/small gun debate... In the original game Marcus couldn't use the pulse rifle, only the laser and plasma rifles IIRC. In the Megamod 2.1 and 2.3 Marcus can't use the pulse rifle. I wonder if it wasn't given the small gun animation on purpose. I guess I wouldn't care either way, seems awful insignificant.

To go back, yes. I meant interesting options. ;)
Who can 'tell' you the tribe was kidnapped? Just talking to Hakunin didn't seem to do it.

If you cared to scan back the other bugs I posted you'd probably consider most of them as "trifles", but for killap those little bugs (still bugs though) are probably fixable in a few minutes, so why shouldn't I post them?

And if you have something "bigger" be our guest to post it.

You mean in official 1.02 version? As far as I remember Marcus could handle Pulse rifle without problems.

I disagree. If the patch is to work as intended it should correct every fixable bug occurring. And in my personal opinion this issue should be solved and fixed 'cause it annoys me as well as the other little thingeys I reported so far.

I didn't steal it. And as far as I remember I could keep asking him about it and he always was saying that he gives it to me, but if you say it works properly I will check after releasing new patch and expansion, because I don't have any save from that period of game.

I'm not quite sure what do you mean by "lure", but I can tell that I only helped Lara to defeat Tyler's gang.

No, I hacked into the Emperor and all data files and so on were available but after clicking option of geolocation I could only get back to previous menu - no line about missing tribe was available, and yes - I've already talked to Hakunin.

Theres something I found strange, When you install Killap Patch I think you get the Quest of Clearing out the Wanamingo Mine Crossed out already?

That happens sometimes to people who cannot follow instructions.

Hmmm. I will take a closer look. There is a check that if the item is no longer in his inventory he will say a different line about not being able to find it.

You said one of the members from Lara's gang helped you fight Metzger. How did she get from the church to Metzger's place.

I took a look and I see the problem. The call to check for the tribe missing is handled by a global variable. This variable has various states depending on the big events in the game (ie vault 13 found, tribe kidnapped, tanker fixed, enclave destroyed, etc) Thus, if you happen to learn about the tanker or do anything with it, the check for the missing tribe (which has a lower state) will no longer be true. I take it you did something with the tanker (ie heard that it needed fuel, got fuel for it, etc) before attempting to read about the location of the tribe?

In any event, I will have to go through the scripts and change how the conditions handle this.

That would explain it. I tend to skip going back to Arroyo after getting the GECK, or go to San Fran before V13. (Now that I think about it, I recall getting Dream 4 after leaving San Fran the first time.)

I think there were some other people who seemed to 'know' the tribe was kidnapped before the player did, so this change should be able to fix all of them.

I'd advise you to check Matt's scripts. If I am to be more specific you should check his scripts concerning dumb character (he tells the dumbass that he will prepare Valdez for him [for the first time if I remember correctly]). You should decide if this is a condition to know about missing tribe.

But at the same time I'm sure I couldn't choose the line about locating the tribe, playing character with int=8 so it's quite confusing I think. About the intelligent char I did do something more about Valdez, and I knew about missing tribe from Hakunin, AND found GECK already.

She joined me during the combat mode. I simply closed both door leading into Skaver's Guild building and took the bastards with scoped hunting rifle (through the windows). Before I could really tell she was in my team running along with my party around the building :]

Do you remember who those people were? This may prove useful.

If you were still in combat mode then any surviving members of Lara's team that might be outside the building will continue to "act" as part of your team. Once combat mode ends any followers will leave.

This is a known exploit of the help Lara's gang mission/quest and has been used by many to help slaughter the slavers.

Had a strange problem with T-Ray. I was going to retrieve my car and got into a little word spat with him, left conversation and then talked to him again and sexed him into giving me car back plus upgrade (I was a woman). Then when I walked away I suddenly enter combat with him and his cronies. I reload back to a save I did after leaving the conversation the first time and tried again, same effect. I may also have tried to walk away immediately after reload with the same thing happening, bit I'm not sure. I eventually got out of it by sexing him to death (hilarious  ) and could then take the upgraded car without problems.

Well I'm sure that between helping Lara and killing Slavers I was doing something else so don't know why the problem occurred.

@Kwiatmen666

Hmmm - I have run into an instance a while back where the Lara gang quest could be completed before everyone inside building was dead. Thus I'm thinking things might have gotten messed up team allocation wise if this occurred to you and then you went to kill the slavers.

This is definitely an interesting scenario to explore, but I don't think too much time should be spent on investigating it for a potential bug fix. After all the F2 engine is definitely not 100% stable and many funny things have occurred before too be only rarely reproducible and likely not fixable.

Yeah, I suppose many of the bugs mentioned here are just random engine glitches that cannot be fixed. The ones reported by several people just might be the only ones that something can be done about.

Lara's gang stays on your team (highlighted in green in combat) after the battle, which is why they'll help you fight Metzger. Perhaps this could be fixed by setting them to neutral when you get the quest reward.

By Per's Demand:
I'm not sure if this is caused by the Killap Patch but the heck, When you receive the Quest to give the Holodisk or have a recommendation from Sheriff Dunton to Westin the Guard at the Post does not start a Dialog & just says either of the following:
-This is Gov't Property, move stranger
-May I see your Pass?
-Only Authorized Personnel can Go in

Well for the case of the holodisk, are you carrying it on yourself?

And for the recommendation from the Sheriff, you should be able to access his dialog by asking who lives there. then saying you need to speak with the councilman.
