Hi, i am new and recently played FO2 again, but found out just yet about the patch, i must say i admire your work, you've done a great job i think. But i do have a few questions:
I installed the Version A of your patch now, but i am not sure if i did it right, i do see the rock behind Klint, but when i look at it, it's just stated that is a certain type of rock, nothing about the patch version?
Furthermore i am able to load my savegames from before the patch (V.1.02d) what should not work?
Did you fix T-Ray so you can get the grav plates upgrade now? Since i played the last game not visiting him until beating the game to get that. (And it's fun.)
I think i will play a new game with your patch and the patch for the partymember outfits.

If you can load a save game from an older version of the game and the rock does not say anything about my patch, then something went wrong with the installation. Do a fresh install, delete the patch000.dat file and copy over the files from version A of my patch. Let me know what happens.
 
If the saved game is from any version of fallout before the rock was included in the unofficial patch, I don't think it's on the map.

After installing the latest patch, I loaded a saved game (pre rock inclusion) and checked for the rock, and it wasn't there. However, when I started a new game, the rock appeared correctly.
 
Hi, i did a complete fresh install of the game, not just the patch and now it works. I also installed the B-Team Mod for the NPC from Kilians site. Thanks for your advice.
Started a new game now.
Since i have no experience with the scripts, i do not know if some things i encountered are bugs or intended.
For example in my new game with the patch in Modoc i talked with Jo and when talking about the GECK said i will find it alone.
Now i do not have the Dialog option to talk about it again and can not get him to talk to me about the Ghost Farm, can not get it on the World Map. So is this normal, like when you decline Torr's offer in Klamath and can not get the Brahmin quest.
In my last game, i also noticed that i did not get for some reason Stark's quests in Vault City.
 
One other thing, i read about the leftout locations in FO2 (Abbey, EPA, Primitive Village) and i see that there are mods to put them back in.
Are this mods compatible with the patch?
 
Got a quick question for killap, but thought the rest of you might be interested in his answer as well:

Is your quick fix for the tanker fuel problem currently in your latest June 11th patch? If yes, was this fix uploaded to NMA?

You mean getting fuel from the Hubologist computers in the event you are stuck and unable to get fuel from anywhere else? If so, then no this fix is not part of the June 11th release nor available anywhere else expect my own computer. Which reminds me, I do need to get this last patch out the door. Ryan P. Fialcowitz was working on going through all the files and fixing typos missed by the spellchecker as well as making things more consistent with action commands, etc. Sadly, his harddrive died and he lost all the work he did. It is up to me now to do this and I was hoping to make all the action commands the same throughout the game - for the sake of consistency. This is pretty time consuming though I am not sure I will really get around to it; at least not for a while. I also need to finish up the "too many items delay fix" which involves clearing out shopkeepers' inventories during each restocking. I got it to work and now just need to do this to all the shopkeepers. Hopefully this will delay the appearance of the too many items bug.

I was planning on releasing this patch with the addon, but the addon is also delayed as I wait for graphics on the sub. I may also include the Hubologist spaceship, but that seems kinda slim. Either way, it looks like I will release the patch before the addon since I should be able to get things done by the first week of October. Unless I get the items for the sub before then, expect the last release of my patch early October. It will come in two flavors, manual and installer with no longer a version B.

That being said, I have a little problem, I searched the boards for an answer but couldn't find one. I'm running the UK version of the game with the killap-patch and when I'm about to enter the military base (after blowing up the door) the game crashes and I get a black screen (and have to restart the computer or press ctrl-alt-del).

I found a thread about this and a quick fix there but I can't download it (as a matter of fact, I can't dowload anything from the "http://zcn.phix-it.com/fallout2" site). Is there anywhere else the fix can be found? Thanks in advance

Yeah, my server is down right now, so any links to it will not work.

If I remember correctly, that fix you mention was an old issue I corrected way back. You shouldn't be suffering from it any more if you are running my latest June 11th release. Unless you have upgraded from older versions this problem should not occur. I suggest making a copy of your save games, uninstalling the game - making sure to delete the Fallout 2 folder that is left behind, and reinstalling with the latest patch. Other than that, not sure what could be at fault.

P.S. I am a male incase anyone did not already know/cared to know.

Not sure off the top of my head. I think it might - check Per's guide for details.

You mean the issue where if you steal the spiked knuckles from them on one map they still have them on another? Yeah, I address that in the next release.

Something bothers me. Per's guide mentions that the Karma pics are unused - I don't have the game installed right now, but if I recall, they are used. Per said he'll check the matter first thing when he goes for F2, but do you happen to know something 'bout it killap, perhaps?

I started the game up briefly to check. They are not used, for exactly the reason I told you.

I've also told you at least twice before to trim stuff from long quoted posts that aren't relevant to your reply. Do it again (that is, don't do it again) and you'll get a strike.

By the way, how's things coming along on the 65% of Fallout that my guide doesn't cover?

I am curious how I could go about using them in the game though. There is no variable I can set to make them appear in the character sheet. One would assume setting GVAR_KARMA_DEFENDER to 1 would make the picture appear but it doesn't.

Just a small update.

I will be releasing the final version of my patch this Friday/Saturday. It will comes in 3 flavors: a manual version for the US/UK edition of the game, an installer (yay?) version for the US/UK edition of the game, and lastly a manual version for the Mac edition of the game. There is no longer a version A/B due to the fact that there was some confusion regarding this and honestly I am not sure there every truly was a need for version B which was intended for those who had a 1.02 version of the game with no patch000.dat file.

This release has a nice slew of fixes (I think about 30+) as well as several removals of things on my part that I had added. These items (such as the extension to the Dunton Brahmin rustling quest, the ability to go on multiple cattle runs for Dupo in NCR, the zip gun, etc) have been removed and will only be found in my expansion which is due out very shortly after this patch. By doing so, my patch will truly only be bug fixes with essentially zero new content added. I am not finding the time/interest anymore to continue updating this patch and thus I REALLY don't plan on there being another release - and I mean it this time :D. Unless there are some issues introduced on my part or there are still some quest/game stoping bugs, I won't be addressing them. In addition, for those of you curious, I did not go ahead and make all the command/action dialog options consistent throughout the game - I neither had the time nor interest to do so, nor do I want to tackle it since it really isn't technically a bug fix.

I hope this final update will be a nice treat for Fallout's 10th aniversity and will make your experience through the game ever better.

Expect news surrounding my expansion to follow in a few days.
