Fallout 2 mod Unofficial Fo2 patch thread - problems, reports, suggestions

Hi, thanks for awesome mod.
I have a little problem. Cassidy and Sulik run away like cowards while in battle, but Vic is not. Everyone have full HP, combat mode -aggressive.
Is it a mod feature?
Thanks a lot.

Check to see if they have broken limbs.

Are you using just the unofficial patch or do you have the restoration project?

Also, are they by chance crippled?

EDIT:
And Dravean beats me to the punch! 8-)

Umm... I use restoration project 2.0
Cassidy and Sulik has crippled limbs and ran away from fight? :)
Or I got u wrong?

If a party member has crippled limbs, he will flee from any fight until you Doctor him. Doesn't matter if he has full HP or not, but crippled limbs make all the difference in a fight.

thanks all
Another thing
If I saved game during the fight and then load in (combat mode on) -
I cannot hit anybody and inflict damage, but my companions and enemies can make damage. I loved this thing, the game become much harder, but I doubted: maybe something wrong or I it may be some switchers somewhere

saving in fight is never good idea and bring more or less errors and bugs, avoid saving fight

and use appropriate topic - this one is for Unofficial Patch, not for RP related stuff.

I was wondering if there's a Fallout 2 character editor that's compatible with Killap's patch and restoration set, something like FALCHE2 as it (FALCHE2) doesn't want to load any save files after I install them. I also hope I'm not asking this in the wrong place but there's alot of talk about the patch/restoration project here so thought I would. Thanks for your time.

Thanks alot!!! You was right, it is way better cause it has tons of more options. thanks killap. ^_^

Not a big deal but... in Modoc, i started the map by helping the town with the quest town quest and also helped saving Johnny quest before i even entered the other side of town, once i did get there [after completing those quests] the only option i got from Rose in the Bed & Breakfast is a free omelet. [no chance to break the record for eating brahmin fries or asking for water and getting a Cookie.

Hi. I have been trying to mod my game with some other mods that require Mod loader and patch000.dat to run. I have read previous posts, and it seems that the .dat file was removed with the unofficial patch's implementation. It is my current understanding that this is a normal procedure that occurs when installing the patch.

My question is, is it possible to find a work around to get these mods in question to work? Thanks.

Edit: no more than two minutes are posting this, i came across DatExplorer... will see if it works :p

I see "FALLOUT 2 1.02" on main menu and there is the stone in beginning. Do I have an updated FO2 or does it have to be shown as 1.02.26? Thanks

If you see the rock but don't see the version in the main menu, then that means that sfall is not configured correctly. Either there was a problem installing it or the ddraw.ini file was overwritten. Did yo update sfall after installing my patch? Also, some more information would be useful. What OS, how did you install the game, etc?

I have the gog.com edition. I just installed your patch, then installed sfall 2.9 and high resolution patch. Also I'm using Win7 Pro x64

edit: I've just reinstalled the game, and haven't installed the new sfall. Now I can see the exact version on main menu. Thanks for your interest (and for the project of course) killnap, keep on good work :)

When I talk to Skeeter for the first time, I had the super tool kit. His first dialogue line was about trading it for the Fuel Cell Controller. And we haven't talked about anything yet. The dialogue hints that it's meant for after we've talked about the Fuel Cell Controller, therefore it's not intentional.

Also, I'm not sure I'm using the latest Unofficial Patch, sorry.

Hey, a friend of mine is trying to install this unofficial patch, but he's having problems due to Vista (just like everyone else). He can't seem to find the Fallout 2 Installation Directory.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think he got it.

@OakTable
Did he manually install the game? If not, the installer should auto-detect where the game is. What version of the game does he have?

He had the Fallout Trilogy edition. He did it manually and it worked.

EDIT: He would've asked himself, but you guys have banned a whole lot of email sites from being used to register. You wouldn't believe the rings I had to jump through to register here.
