Backup is in backup/rpu directory. I don't now why do you need in the first place, though.after rpu installation party.txt was gone and i want to know if i have to place the file back into the data folder or do something different to use it.
To get rid of rifle animations, just delete the corresponding dat from mods directory. As for skins, just don't use them? I'm not sure what's that about the red dog, you can open a github issue about that.Hey burn, thanks for your work. Its really nice to see that the Restoration Project isn't completely stuck in limbo anymore! One request if I may: Could you please add the missing installer options from RP 2.3.3 into rpu.ini so that no customizing options are missing? I'd personally like to remove the new animations for scoped rifles, but I am unable to do so. (And yes, I know they are brilliantly crafted and most people love them, but I'd like my game without them, which is not possible with RPU.)
I'm also not a big fan of the blondie and redhead player skin (they differ too much from the other critter graphics in the game imho) as well as the red dog alternative, but those couldn't be disabled in "vanilla" RP either. Would be nice to have toggle options for the individual skins, but I don't know if this would be much work.
Pretty much everything is finished, unless new bugs come up. I'm waiting for new sfall and modderspack release.Any estimates when the v9 of the Restoration Project might be out?
I didn't play New Vegas, so really I have no idea what you're talking about. But it sounds out of RP scope. Better done as a separate mod.Would it be possible to lock goofy things behind a "Wacky Wasteland"-toogle as in New Vegas?
Imagine that you have to play with "Wacky Wasteland" enabled to get the most bizarre things like scorpion playing chess, ghosts and the talking death claw?
Installation instructions aren't very clear? especially for overwriting the ddraw.ini, i get the big red text error telling me i've overwritten the RP ini and need to revert back.
Does RPUinstall.bat need admin privileges?
Also, this doesnt fix the numerous "black screen" bugs when entering certain towns or areas, such as Umbra, The Den, and Broken Hill (The 3rd of which im currently suffering with)
most notable being the black screen with no exit grids
They are set to read only, is it bad if my proto folders are empty? i assume hidden filesYou mean the player character is in a black screen but you see the interface and can walk around, etc?
If so, that's a proto issue. After installing the mod you should check if the /data/proto/ folder is set to read only. This is necessary, otherwise fallout2.exe will delete the proto files on gamestart, which will fuck up the game.
This isn't a problem if the files are in a *.dat file, but not every mod is doing that. Don't remember if the RP installer did this (probably not).
Running the bat just MOVES everything to backup, the only thing left in the data folder after that is scripts6. Started rpu-install.bat and waited till it was done.
Started the game, walked around a bit in the Temple of Trials. No popup or anything related to modified ddraw.ini file.

Game is installed to my desktop, i have multiple backups of everything, no black screen on bunker hill anymore after another reinstall and then installing this mod, ddraw overwritten successfully.
Idk what UAC protected means but i'd like some help
I finished the game because i finished fallout 1 a while ago and remember never getting passed navarro in fallout 2 so i decided to play again last week and completed a vanilla run, now i installed the RP, have run into a few problems the most notable being the black screen with no exit grids, other than that i have terrible fps and stuttering issues especially in the map.
Ive installed this new RPU version and things are fine as of now but i know 100% that i will encounter another bug soon
Burn doesnt speak very good english from what i can gather so he needs time to translate things accurately, do i need to start a new game when i install v9?Looks like v9 is out now
Any changelog?
Or better yet, a list of changes, fixes and/or additions since v1.
Would be nice to know what to look forward.
UAC stands for User Account Control. It is a Feature for windows Vista and all newer windows systems including latest windows 10. All it does, is it protects certain folders in windoes system such as Users and it's subfloders ( including desktop subfolder) and Program Files [ Program Files(x86) too] and Documents. when installng in a protected folder, certain old games that were designed prior to User Account Control existance (such as Fallout 2 and it's mods), have problems installing and running while beeing installed in such folders. So as a general rule of thumb, one should install Fallout 1/2 somwhere else like D:\ partition or C:\games for example. Just *not* the default C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86).
