V:TM - Bloodlines

I keep learning new things about this game every time I play through with a different clan with different disciplines.

Not sure if this is a Plus Patch only thing, but there is a non-violent solution for the Bad Blood quest.

When you go in and see the 4 thugs on the left side of the diner, you can now persuade them to not attack you or you can dominate them not to attack you (not playing a Malkavian right now but Dementation might work also). And you get XP for it, you don't have to kill them for the XP. Neat!!!

Huh.

Weird.

Wesp changed the boss fight in the Library level.

Instead of fighting Andrei, the Tzimisce, again, you now fight against a Lasombra instead. Fight is a lot easier now too. Or that might be because of the Blood Shield being more effective against bullets or whatever. Dunno. Either way, it's a lot easier of a fight now. And it must be a pretty weak Lasombra, only uses Obtenebration for warping around the level. Kind of disappointing. Oh well, probably only so much Wesp can do so it's understandable I guess. :p

Just finished my Tremere playthrough. The Unofficial Patch added more abilities to the Sheriff that suck out your blood so playing as a Tremere in that fight puts me at a distinct disadvantage because all of my abilities come through blood use. So I was relegated to fight it like all the other times I played the game. Guns. So lame. :|

And right as I completed my Tremere playthrough, Wesp just released Unofficial Patch 8.9.

The last quarter or fifth becomes way too bashy-shooty. It's one of the game's primary flaws, I would say.

Apparently it's because they ran out of money, or so I heard. :(

So I applied the 9.0 patch and have been going through it as a Gangrel which I haven't played as before. The Warform is pretty useful, at least so far.

It's making short work of those fleshcrafted monsters in the Sewer Warrens. Like 5 hits and dead. Andrei was also pretty easy to defeat with Warform.

The only problem I've had so far is with the Gargoyle. I can't do much damage to it unless I use blunt melee weapons, but I've been focusing all my points into Unarmed and my disciplines so I can't wield a Sledgehammer effectively. So I had to solve the quest through dialogue instead of fighting it. *shrug*

I've hit a few things new that were introduced in 9.0 like the quest for Trip. Once I'm done with this, next time I load it up I have a good idea for a Ventrue that goes against type. I'd like to see how it works. :p

I think Wesp's patch includes a new wolf-like model for the warform. Vanilla warform looked pretty stupid...like a big bat that couldn't fly.

This one still looks like a malformed bat. There's bat-like wingfolds between the arm and body. I'll try to post a picture in a bit. I don't know what vanilla Warform looks like though so I can't compare.

This beast of a game is currently on sale until the 5th May on Steam at 75% offski, good time as any considering the recent patch release.
Also all this talk makes me want to try another Malk run, being insane (sorta) makes the late game much more bearable, well that and a high powered rifle.

Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines is now available DRM-free on GOG.

Also, wesp released unofficial patch 9.5 last month. It adds a couple new locations that were never completed during development. To get access to one of them I have to get access to the Library quest which is nearly two-thirds through the game. I'll post screenshots when I get there. :)

Playing through as Brujah this time. Only clan I haven't played as after this will be Ventrue. I'll probably wait after few more patches to do that though. :p

Damn, he is still releasing patches? He's been at it for like 8 or 9 years... That's some dedication.

I have a sneak of 7 with Bloodbuff activated, why are human thugs detecting me when I'm sneaking behind them? >_<

Is it cuz I'm Brujah and they suck? >_>

Smelly Brujah punk... Maybe taking a shower every once in a while would help.

As for being detected, how far into the game are you talking about here? 7 + buff should allow you to sneak up on a lot of enemies (but certainly not all), but you obviously need to do it quietly and from behind.

Warehouse level. My Dex is 3, Stealth is 2, with bloodbuff my sneak is 7. Should be good enough. But they're detecting me before the stealth kill icon pops up. I've never had a problem with this before and I've beaten the game like 8 times. <_<
