Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

It might be that.
But then it's a bit weird they hired Alexandre as Creative Consultant to help in the final stages of development. Like they said here:

Final stages of development doesn't really need a Creative Consultant/Director if no new content is being written for the game.
And as they say there "Alexandre is committed to following the vision that is in place", which really implies that he is writing stuff for the game and maybe changing some previous stuff too. Otherwise they didn't need to say that he is following the vision that's in place already, since he wouldn't be writing, editing or changing anything.

There is also the question on story content DLCs (like expansion DLC). Those will not be written by Brian anymore. If they are written by Alexander, there's that high chance that it will feel out of place compared with the base game.

It's my opinion only, but I think they will have Alexander do a bunch of stuff. Otherwise they wouldn't have hired him.

While I understand your point, the obvious answer is to supervise DLC.

Confirmed info: game's already done for months, but they're delaying it to release it on the same day as Half Life 3 for the authentic Bloodlines experience.

I have no hope at all for this game. All the stuff I’ve been hearing is making the game sound like a cluster fuck. I would like to be proven wrong but I have a feeling most of us here who have our doubts are going to be proven right.

That is effectively what happens since Cyberpunk 2077 keeps delaying too, almost like they want to make sure they release the same day.

I wish I had your optimism Phipps but Cyberpunk being delayed is different from that of VTMB2. Vampires development has been a clusterfuck. We have been hearing more and more about how much of a mess Vampires development has been. They have also been firing their main talent too. In the past few years I've learned that when a video game or movie has a clusterfuck of a development more often then not the game or movie in question will be a mess. Case in point the Justice League movie and the Rise of Skywalker.

Everything I've seen from Vtmb2 since the announcement looks like amateur hour, with that werewolf game looking like generic garbage I guess WOD aren't getting any good adaptions now, especially after these latest editions.

Why single out Rise of Skywalker? All the Disney Star Wars Sequels have sucked. :P

Eh, I know VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE: BLOODLINES 2 development better than most because a friend of mine works at the studio.

:)

So Cara Ellison (the writer everyone on Codex assumed had something to do with Mitsoda getting fired) also stopped working on Bloodlines 2 (deleted all info about it from her bio on Twitter) and moved back to Scotland.

Is anyone still working on it?

Color me surprised if it's not a trainwreck in the end but if it is, i called it. :smug:

Honestly, never had much hope to begin with. Sequels to stuff that came out like 10-15 years ago are a big red flag. That's way too much of a time gap because a lot of happened and changed since then.

Vampires just aren't 'in' for 2020.

Maybe if they did this in '12, riding off of Twilight, or Marceline from Adventure Time....

I had hope for this one though because they were at least smart enough (or at least seemed smart enough) to have the project overseen by the guy who made the first game so great. But then they fired him and now I'm like...welp. :rip:

This is exactly the same for me.
I had some hope when it was announced, but then after details started to come out, I just lost it all. I even remember saying so here in the past and people telling me off. >_>

I want it to be a good game, but I don't think it will be one.
