Wasted Potential

Someguy is perfectly content with the same voice actor portraying Hulk-like Super Mutants forever because the lore that Bethesda has no respect for said it is okay.
Not true at all. I would like some semi-intelligent super mutants, so long as they made sense. I personally would love to see the west coast super mutants be used for something new for once.

I also love the
>LEL NO RESPECT FOR THE LORE!
Meme. When everyone from Tim Cain, Chris Avellone, Josh Sawyer, and even Brian Fargo have said they disagree at one time or another, even if they wouldn't have done everything Bethesda did.

I love it how you keep ignore our accusations of using evidence in certain areas, but ignoring it in others as it suits you.

Why did Bethesda have to put drooling braindead super mutants in the game? Now that I think about it they do sort of look like the hulk , I would've came to that conclusion sooner if I wasn't killing all of them I've encountered besides Strong(which I exited out of dialogue with to shoot things in the face instead of using him as a companion!).
I know there were stupid mutants like Harry in the originals but I though he was funny and sounded funny too.

Harry was a joke, a kind of common mistake looked down on by the rest.

I don't. Its just a hallow claim.

The idea that selectively using realism, in a game that selectively uses realism, and saying that's flip flopping, makes no sense. The game isn't all real, nor is it all unreal, and your attempts to keep trying to reduce it to an all or nothing fallacy do nothing but show you have no real argument to counter the actual claims being made.

Radiation turning things into giant monsters, despite that being unreal, is something the game shows. The game also says that it has the same history as out up until around the 40's, meaning stuff like vikings crossing the ocean in shitty wooden points, is also something the game says happened, despite the fact that's something that's real in a universe that also shows unreal things like radiation turning things into giant monsters.

So far, all the claims of flip flipping, or ignoring evidence, have been nothing more then "WE'LL, YOU CLAIMED RADIATION IS BASICALLY BULLSHIT IN FALLOUT SO HOW CAN YOU ASSERT THAT PEOPLE CAN DO THIS TOTALLY REAL THING LIKE SAILING FROM THE UK TO THE US ALSO!!!!!!!!" Which is just a fallacious attempt to reduce everything into an all or nothing, totally real or totally unreal state, when the game isn't either of those.

I honestly find it pretty pathetic you're so hellbent on hating the game you are willing to go that far.

I was talking about the legion and the institute, but okay you know what ignore that and make it that I complain about the radiation. Across irradiated boats with nothing but themselves and limited resources. Totally viable.

Sorry I didn't know you were talking about something you didn't bring up in the post you responded to me with.

And if a bunch of tanker vagrants, and a tribal, could fix up a massive super tanker, and get it working, why the hell couldn't smarter people? It doesn't exactly take a long time to cross the ocean by boat anymore. You can do it in less then a week in the real world, not to mention how fast they would go in a nuclear powered 2077 boat. And who says they did it by themselves?

A bunch of malnourished Norsemen could do it... I'm really with Someguy on this one.

Who had lot's of men, resources and stops in Greenland. Not to forget the best ships at the age.

So there is a perk that makes you invulnerable to getting radiation from drinking irradiated water and let's you breath forever underwater..... but you still get radiation from stading near a ghoul and you can't hold your breath forever when aiming......

This game took 7 years to make. Or 4 years if you're being conservative. Let that sink in for a moment.

Contrast this with New Vegas' development time. Or the time it took to make Wasteland 2, or Pillars of Eternity, or pretty much any other game.

Witcher 3 took just 3 years to make according to various sites.

They absolutey did not have lots of men and resources. They did not stop at Greenland, they came from Greenland- a colony that died out 200 years following that expedition.

...Josh Sawyer has actually said that the theme of New Vegas was both the future of the Wasteland and letting go of the past...
Did he? Because on his tumblr he said "recreating the new world in the image of the old" and then said "As for why these groups do it, they look at the pre-war world and think that they can rebuild better or more quickly if they pattern what they’re doing on what has been done before"

Exactly, there is a certain discussion there on whether it is better to build off what others have done in the past, and risk making their mistakes, or to pave a new path. You can see this in Veronica's quest (stay with the BoS and try to reform them or go her own way) and Raul's quest (become the gunslinger he once was and try to do good, or accept a new position in society)

Though CDPR has twice the man power(work force cheaper there) and as far as i heard they have slave labor like work hours in CDPR.

Bethesda for a studio that makes AAA games is pathetically small. Waiting for 7 years for the next game is ridiculous.

Strong isn't even peaceful, he is just on your side, his like points mostly come from being violent and eating corpses...

Bethesda had more money than CDPR, they are not a mom-and-pop studio like people keep saying. They are well within their means to hire more people with the kind of budget they had for Fallout 4, but apparently all those procedurally generated fetch quests cost millions of dollars? The game's lack of polish and quality means a ton of money went to something else like marketing.

In short, the notion that Bethesda was somehow at a disadvantage to CDPR is absurd. The game isn't even on a new engine. What were these developers doing for the last 4-7 years? Investing millions into that *beautiful* new dialogue system and deep writing?

The pip-boy editions, the mobile game, the marketing blitz. All these things seem to be where the money and time was spent, and that is probably why CDPR put out something much better in less time - not because Bethesda is a vulnerable tiny little studio instead of a giant corporation that just made about $750 million in a day or two.
