Can i refuse a quest?

*That robot P.A.M even says "It's not important when you do the quest so i don't take no as an answer, here updated your journal" when i said no. It's feels like getting raped: "No, please no, i don't wan't that in my pip-boy..." It's only RPG i felt so powerless. I'm being serious.

Hear, hear.

I had the same problem with Preston.

Just mentioning settlements in trouble.

I really, really, really wanted to say:

"Well, sucks to be them. But I've got my settlement here, I'm comfy. I saved you because I got something out of it, but I honestly don't care about some farmers at the other end of the map. No, I said no. NO ! DONT TOUCH MAH PIPBOY!"

"Can I join raiders?"

On this topic, not about explicitly joining the Raiders, but can I convince the various Raiders, Gunners, and other intelligent potential antagonists in the wasteland that I'm cool so they won't attack me on sight every time?

That seems like a good foundation for a questline, at least.

"Can I craft ammunition from junk components ?"

(This is another one of my bugbears. You're in a world where you have to fight all the time, yet it's more important to craft a TV and an armchair than being able to craft your own ammo supply)

My dream response is "I just helped them 3 times this week! Am I the only minuteman!? Let them sort their own shit out today!"

"Can I hate newspapers?"
"Can you put actual people in the world instead of cannon fodder with the sole existence of waiting to be killed by the player?"

Can I send my alleged army of Minutemen to sort out the fourth freaking time raiders have taken up residence at this one radar station, insetad of going back down and mindlessly killing level 1 Raiders again because the cell's level is like war and never changes?

Can I get a realistic damage option like FWE or Project Nevada? (increasing enemy DT is not immersive or fun)
Can I have my skills back, please.
Can I suffer stat penalties if I don't eat, sleep, or drink water?
Can I have some genuine scarcity in the wasteland? I have thousands of rounds of ammo and over 100 stimpacks.
Can I have a new Fallout spin-off made by Obsidian?
Can I play as my own character?

I could go on but I'd rather not.

Can I screw up?

When I first introduced a cousin of mines to Fallout New Vegas, she accidentally set Goodsprings hostile by killing Cheyenne. She proceeded to murder the town, head to Primm and then get killed, I think. She then quit, but mostly because she didn't like post apocalyptic themes all that much anyways.

However, the point was that you could seriously mess up your journey by doing a thing. Not a wrong thing, but something. There's really no risk of that in Fallout 4. There are choices, but no consequences. That's like having you select either to pick a cake from Box A and Box B when both boxes contain the same cake, with the frosting maybe in a different colour. It makes it less memorable and less of an impact as a whole.

Even non-RPG players would admit that the "kill anyone, will have long arching impacts" is one of the things that make up Fallout the most. Having nearly everyone with a name be essential and stop being hostile once you leave for an in-game day defeats the point of allowing you to pull out a gun and shoot them in the first place.

Can the Settlers plant their own F***ing Mutfruit and Corn?

Can the Settlers stop getting kidnapped and taken to Corvega Assembly Plant?
