Well THIS is eerily prophetic...

Wow RPGs evolving? Right..evolving..don't make me laugh, Fallout is a husk of what it once was and Fallout 4 is in no way an RPG, it has some elements slightly sprinkled on. It's a killing, poor mans The SIMS, hiking simulator. Hell it doesn't know what it wants to be and the game is a mind-numbingly dull game parading around with a Fallout skin.

They couldn't even do what Borderlands did right. They failed at all of the new features in the game.

Just thought I'd share this review of Fallout 4 that I found on Steam. I thought it was quote hilarious:

"A baby is drowning in the lake:

-Fallout 1

Ask for more information
Agree to help
Decide not to help
Accidentally say something that pisses the NPC off, failing the quest
Reveal too much information about yourself, causing the Super Mutants to track your vault more easily

-Fallout 2

Ask for more information
Agree to help
Decide not to help
Accidentally say something that pisses the NPC off, failing the quest
Pop culture reference about the baby

-Fallout 3
Yes, I will save the baby
Depends on the caps
I will not save the baby
[Intelligence] The baby is drowning

-Fallout New Vegas
I will save the baby
I will not save the baby
[Barter 30] Double the caps and I'll save the baby
[Medicine 30] Thanks to my medical knowledge, I will easily be able to save the baby
[Survival 15/30] Uh... yeah, I totally know how to swim

-Fallout 4
Yes
No (Yes)
Sarcastic (Yes)
Hate babies"

I find that review hilarious given that, by design, Fallout 4 always has one of the dialogue topics reversed for a questioning/further information line.

Yeah with all the guns(which only 5% of 100% of the ones available for loot are worth picking up) the legendary guns are handed out to you like candy. The legendaries I found were worse then the hunting rifle, combat rifle, and silenced 10mm pistol I had. They copied legendary enemies too.

Off topic: I hit my 500th post and of course it's about me being bitter towards this crap.

Easy to miss points when the "point"" is full of nonsense. God forbid Rpg's evolve at all. Every other other genre in gaming does but RPGs? Nope, better not change my RPGs, get off my lawn god damnedkids!!!
There is nothing at all wrong with new and different games; it's the life blood of the industry. What's wrong is the shameless recycling of the of names that have an established reputation, and not delivering on that reputation. It is [rightly] called "Bait & Switch". The problem is not that Bethesda used the Fallout setting for their new games, it is that they used the eponymous series for them, and appended the #3 and #4 ~when their titles do not measure up, and do not even compete in the same arena ~or even try to; they don't want to, that's why they changed it to be a TES reskin ~that's what they do... That's ALL they do.

Everyone who lauds FO3 & FO4 as a Fallout title; and as an improvement... is essentially doing similar to lauding a thing like a brand of 'Orange Juice' as improved being orange juice [in their opinion] ~merely because they like it, it's orange, and despite it not having an oranges in it.

(And more accurately; the one expressing the opinion likely might have never seen an orange, and/ or be allergic to oranges.)
*And you do see this with people that for instance cannot eat Ice Cream, liking a non-dairy alternative as being great tasting "ice cream" ~despite having no cream in it. It's not improved simply because they get to eat it too; it's a really neat ~something else~ as a substitute; and doesn't improve on the original. There are places in the world where the "Ice Cream" is made with bear fat, and no milk... that's not ice cream, and not 'improved ice cream'.

FO3 is not 'improved Fallout', and FO4 (according to many it seems) is not 'improved FO3'.

That would be a good joke if it werent for the fact that once you click a choice multiple lines show up and not just a one word choice.

And while these people might be writing some of the people here off as Fallout 1 and 2 fanatics who will hate anything Bethesda puts out, they still don't know what to do with people like me who liked every Fallout game until Fallout 4. They still cannot explain why Fallout 3 has such high user scores and Fallout 4 does not other than to say it was a conspiracy.

I have not played FO4, but I liked FO3 on its own merits, and for what it was. It was an impressive title.

*But it was not an impressive Fallout title [by comparison], and personally ~for myself, it does not include anything of the Fallout series that I would seek out a Fallout sequel by name to experience. That, and it plays like TES.

**I like TES, (I own ALL of them), but I would never accept TES reskinned as a Fallout sequel.

Who do they not measure up to Gizmo? The irrelevant and immature minority? The
majority of fans likeFallout 3 & 4.
The explanation won't help you. When someone has it ingrained that a thing is unthinkably inferior, you can't explain it to them.

I could as well try to explain a point of view why homelessness puts one above their peers.

The majority of Bethesda fans* like Fallout 4.

I like Fallout 3. I think Fallout 4 is a childish insult to consumers even if they have never played a Fallout game. It is not a good game on its own merit, let alone a good Fallout game. Fallout 3 was a great game on its own and a good Fallout game in its own way, and New Vegas was an even better one.

I can very easily explain why, hateful fucks gave the game 1s and 0s. Do you know what 0s do to scores?

There are over 2,000 negative reviews for the PC version alone, which outnumbers the positive reviews. Even if they weren't 0's, Fallout 4 would have a mediocre score. Unless of course you're invoking your Reddit Illuminati conspiracy.

Didn't munted veges also give the game 10s though? So the hatefuls and the munted veges combined gave an accurate score right? Since this is how scores work...

Their evolving, some (an annoyingly vocal but ultimately irrelevant minority ;-) ) are just too stupid, and afraid of anything different, to realize it.

Since when when removing options, features and depth is an evolution?

Since one doesn't need fingers to punch things in an environment where punching is the default solution; (or perhaps the only one).
[That's generic, not Bethesda related.]

What IS Bethesda related is Todd's comment about watching players come to wordy dialog options, and just click through it to see who to go shoot.

Gotta love the good ol "not a good fallout" "not a good elder scrolls" cop out to keep mindlessly hating on a game.

I'm sorry but I don't have the crayons to draw a clear enough picture to explain to you. I'll try with words:

Morrowind: Legendary game

Oblivion: good game

Fallout 3: good game

Fallout New Vegas: great game

Skyrim: mediocre game

Fallout 4: Borderlands 4

As you can see, I thoroughly love a lot of Bethesda's previous works. I'm also not a blind fanboy.
