What BoS division do you speculate is in Boston?

Askorti that might be right, I mean its just speculation. The only insignia you see in Tactics that does not match the insignia on the F4 BoS achievement is the banners in the cutscene's with Barnaky. My speculation on that was that the Midwest BoS brought them over from the West Coast when they traveled via airship over to Chicago.

Because if you notice, every single in game vehicle, and every piece of armor and or object has the "midwest" variation of the insignia. Which is the insignia that is shown on the Prydwen, F4 BoS concept art, and the F4 BoS achievement.

All in all, you are probably right to be honest, it is inconsistent. So who knows, I know i have exhausted my research on it because I am obsessive like that. I as well have hopes for not only the Midwest being in Fallout 4, but that they do the division justice.

I didn't like any of the faction stories in Skyrim to be honest, I thought the DB in Skyrim felt like wanna be's. The DB in Morrowind had a more dark and mysterious feel to them. Well to be fair to Skyrim, if you compare anything to Morrowind from Skyrim it will feel crappier. Morrowind was just a better game all around.

So anyway, I don't know, I am optimistic, and will just be thankful that we don't see East Coast/Lyon's as the BoS in Boston. That alone will surprise me and be something to be thankful for.

For all we know Bethesda doesn't know the difference.

Well honestly I didn't either until a few pages ago. Then I really started looking into it. I wish I could just ask a Bethesda developer about the variations of the insignia's. They could very well say that their is no difference, they are just mirrored differently like some of you have already stated in the thread.

I honestly wouldn't mind being able to use the Mid-West Brotherhood PA if it is indeed them. Guess we'll find out in a few days.

It's definitely Lyons Pride. The airship from the trailer is called Prydwen, which is a King Arthur reference. That's right up Lyons' valley.

Besides, who doesn't want the epic Brotherhood of Steel back? Who wants those lame assholes from New Vegas? STEEL BE WITH YOU!

I have no idea what happened to my post, here is hoping I don't double post. This phone sucks ass.

Nope not a fan of NV's BoS either, a bunch of wimps.

Lyons I wouldnt call wimps, but they were too goody good for me.

Midwest Chicago division had the right amount of everything. You can't have a weak BoS division with general Barnaky in it.

But yea the Prydwen screams Lyons, I will agree, I just don't want to face reality.

Let's see, bethsoft already ripped off 1 and 2's story, so they'll probably go for tictacs next. The BoS found yet another source of mutants, and must seek to eradicate it. From then on, they'll find a mysterious source of androids.

Then, the player will go on to find out a robot was behind it all along, the super mutants were good guys, and you'll have an option to take over the android army (where it's revealed you are an android yourself, and you've never noticed).

Oh, and the enclave also had a secret base, because it's never a fallout game without the enclave! Actually, that's for another DLC. Maybe it will be enclave vs. the aliens!

One way they could justify Midwest BroS taking interest in the Commonwealth would be by linking Vault 0 with the institute. It was the central hub for all vault operations, it needed cutting edge tech, so where else would you get it but in the institute? (Save for the BigMT of course)
This way Midwest BroS would find out about the institute, the tech in there, the androids maybe and decide that such tech cannot be left unattended. And of course that they could use it to further spread the influence of their glorious fascist state.
This scenario I would accept and be glad to help them, as I'm basically fed up with everything being about saving the world. This could lead to a very New Vegas-esque ending where the so called "bad guys" win. I'm all for that.

I thought it was generally accepted that Fallout: Tactics was only applicable up to the Super Mutants, but everything involving the Calculator was basically non-grata?

Beth said they were going to use broad strokes when it came to FOT's story.

Generally, that there was a branch of Brotherhood that went to the Midwest, but that what happened there is shaded in mystery.

Consensus was everything except the furry deathclaws, beastlords and Calculator happened.

Well, I find it hard to believe that Beth would care about consensus if the rule of cool could be applied.
I mean, President Eden was basically Calculator, and I wouldn't be surprised if The Institute will be another front for an AI.

That is actually interesting Hassknecht, the thing running the Institute being a form of AI. That would give Midwest BoS enough reason to go over their I would think. They are not a fan of AI at this point.

Further speculation, **SPOILERS from F4 Achievements Ahead Warning**

Suggest that the BoS in Boston are wanting to wipe out all the androids, good or bad, that puts them in conflict with The Railroad. The BoS could just be in a good old fashion conflict with The Minutemen over power and control. I mean the BoS are hoarders of tech as we know, but the Midwest wanted power and control, or conquest as well in Tactics, they wanted to expand. The normal ending in the game definitely proves this.

Then this theory goes way out the window if you are able to join all 3 factions in one play through, and none of the factions conflict with each other. If all 3 factions are up against one enemy like the Institute, as in they are all 3 united in some way I will be so pissed. I am hoping for conflict within all 3 of the factions with each other. They can all be enemies with the Institute, but I don't want them united.

I really hope this is NOT the Midwest BoS. Why? Because I love the Midwest BoS. They have just the right mix of religious zeal, military pragmatism and fascist undertones. If they were handled by Bethesda they would either become sickeningly good, or Hitler-nazi evil. I don't believe they are capable of handling that BoS chapter well and give it justice.

I agree with this. I don't think the idiots at Bethesda could successfully incorporate the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel without butchering them.

As you approach the bulking mass of armour and tech, he turns to you mini-gun in had and a deep grating voice bellows out of his helmet... "STEEL BE WITH YOU!!!" Then the paladin flies away on his jetback, promising to rid the wasteland of all evil after all that evil is killed by you.

Edit: Oops, I'm behind the times... let me correct that...
