What games are we looking forward to?

Anything that Larian, Obsidian and Inxile have to offer. Of course my choice is limited to games that will, or have a high probability of coming out in linux. Would probably add Total War Warhammer to that list as it will recieve a linux port this autumn, but i'm not that keen on supporting dlc milking, denuvo drm using, buggy game releasing companies.

Added Copper Dreams and No Truce with the Furies to my list.

Maybe I'll also get into Endless Space 2. It's been a while since I've played a decent strategy game. And by a while I mean almost ten years maybe?

I ca't seem to get really excited about upcoming games like when I was younger. Sure, there are some games that I'd like to play, such as Torment, some Fallout TC, Stygian, Colony Ship RPG, No Truce with the Furies, Prisonscape and countless others, but there are none that I am really eagerlay waiting.

Besides, there is quite a lot of classics I've yet to play.

I would say Civ VI, but given the direction that Firaxis has taken the series with the last two releases, I'm skeptical of how it's going to turn out. I'll have to wait for some post release reviews and LPs before I make up my mind.

Other than that, I'd have to say Cyberpunk 2077 (even though that still seems to be in the vaporware state) or whatever CD Projekt Red's next release will be.

I don't really keep up with news about future releases until the puiblisher actually announces a release date. I've still got a lot of older games on my list for which I'd like to find time to play.

Umm.... I don't know if you guys heard it already, but just few days ago it was announced there would be console release for Torment: Tides of Numenera. One thing commonly feared, just as you guys and I would fear, is the PC version would be gimped/restricted to match that of the console version. There's already people becoming grumpy, disappointed, and somewhat outright outraged at this decision on the Codex, especially since Fargo actually explicitly stated and promised they were focusing on PC version and, in his own words, "However, we’ve gone to the crowd and they’ve given us money for a very specific purpose, which is to put our games on the PC, Mac and Linux. So that’s where we’re expending 100% of our efforts. We don’t spend any of our time wondering whether it can or can’t be done on consoles, because that isn’t our charter. Our charter is to deliver these first versions".

I'm personally not against a console release, but they should've done it the way Larian Studio did it with D:OS. From what I've heard, D:OS console version fares much better than Wasteland 2 console version, despite the fact that Wasteland 2 console version were released after that of the PC, just like D:OS.
So... this just in.

There's just something fishy about it. I'm trying my best to stay neutral about it, but... as of now, my hope is lowering and my doubt is rising.

something shady going on, even larian are known to take input from codexian

dunno, its not surprising considering how wasteland 2 turn out to be

Battlefield 1, but if we're keeping it to RPGs, a new Rebuild game and expansions for Darkest Dungeon and NEO Scavenger.

Rebuild is just fun as hell, even after grinding for hours on it. 3 is weaker than 2 but is stylistically much better, and the soundtrack is more on point. I hope they don't go for a weird story with 4, though, because it's not exactly tip-top quality.

Darkest Dungeon is oppressively hard but that's what makes you want to play. A lot of times RNGesus doesn't care about you or your party and takes all he has in his vicinity and throws it at you. This makes me angry, but also makes me want to play more, to beat the RNGods and claim the loot.

After the mobile adaptation, NEO Scavenger will finally be breaking out of Michigan, and I can't wait. While mods improve the gameplay, there's nothing like some original character and location designs from Blue Bottle. Breaking out into an entirely new worldspace is exciting stuff.
