What weapons would you guys like to see in F5?

All I know is that in New Vegas I had a build that could punch people off over the horizon and an overhand right that could drill a Deathclaw into the side of a mountain. Seriously that Bloody Mess + Bodyslam bug was amazing. made looting things a pain but I kicked a fucking robot into the sun.

Unarmed and Melee being viable forms of combat are part of the pulp fiction suspension of disbelief you have to accept with the basic premise of the Fallout setting and IMO I think it's stronger for it. They're fucking cool.

Fair point, but on the other hand, Fallout is an RPG, and it’s not necessarily supposed to be realistic. I think action movie physics are okay for fallout. You should be able to make a character that can take on deathclaws and super mutants with only his fists, as long as your unarmed skill is high. Drugs like buffout and psycho could help too
 
Honestly, I would love to see a strong emphasis on home-made and bootleg weapons. I would love a Fallout game whose early game weapons are a mix of pipe guns, ghetto blasters, black powder guns, crossbows, bows and other primitive and scrabbled-together stuff. Imagine taking a Volley Gun, a pistol crossbow and a three-shot home-made pistol into a fight against a gang wielding junk lasers.

Bows, oh yeah bows and crossbows. With plenty of special ammo too. Bodkins, poison-tipped arrows, dynamite bolts straight out of Redneck Rampage, tranquilizer arrows, flare and flashbang arrows, perhaps even the legendary Atomic Warhead Arrow for the lulz (and yes, this should be as stupid as it sounds). Let's Oliver Queen the hell out of this bitch.

I would also love to see a revamp of Unarmed. I would love to see graples, elbow strikes, all sorts of kicks, sweeps, eye pokes, pressure point attacks (a classic of the time!), karate shops, weapon grabs, etc. Having a unarmed fighter fighting you in CQC should be hell, not some guy robotically punching you until you fall.

How come we can't use foot unarmed weapons? Gimme a boot with a knife on it, or maybe a rocket boot (goes well with a Jetpack too). Maybe a boot that works like a super sledge, storing kinetic energy for mean kicks.

Melee... I feel the lack of spears - small one-handed ones, large two-handed ones, tridents, glaives, etc. Atlatls would be so dope. Slings - c'mon where's the slings?! Such dope little weapons, don't understimate them, and you can toss grenades with them too.

Shields, I would like to see shields as an defense solution. Kind of a "disposable defense". Simple normal shields for the early game and such, to deal with melee foes, arrows and such. Of course, good guns would go right through shields. Maybe Riot Shields or some shield made of futuristic metal or plastic for the late game so we can Captain America this bitch up.

As for guns... I dunno. A proper machine pistol would be dope, just ridiculously innacurate spraying of bullets. I would also like to see akin to a Fallout equivalent of the SOCOM. Bring back Needlers and give us loads of chemicals to put into them, maybe a rifle version too.

This is what I’d like to see the most. There’s just so much more that can be done with unarmed than the games allow. We should able to headbutt enemies, spit in their eyes, bite their ears off, or subdue them with wrestling holds.

Wrestling and grappling could be a great way to non-lethally neutralize enemies, perhaps for interrogation or enslavement. Grappled enemies wouldn’t be able to take most actions until they break the grapple. Different types of grapples too, from simply grabbing someone by their shirt collar, to headlocks, to grabbing someone by the testicles even...

Some kind of reversals factored into your chance to dodge at high unarmed levels. Like catching an enemy’s fist in your palm, then breaking his arm. Or just a dodge that redirects your enemy’s momentum, causing him to fall over.

And this all could be used very effectively by non-human enemies too. Multiple dogs clamping their jaws down on you, preventing you from moving or attacking. A super mutant ripping your head off your body. Hell, a super mutant picking up your companion and throwing him at you.

Edit: Speaking of grappling, a garrote wire would be a cool stealth-only weapon. Honestly I’m surprised they didn’t include that in New Reno.

I played the original Wasteland for 5 minutes when I was a young fuck and then died of radiation poisoning.

Anyway what weapons do I want? All of the weapons from Tactics just to piss the nerds off.

Seeing people have tis fits out over that is fucking funny. All those guns are too old to be used by America in 2077! I'm like Bitch, you can buy a Henry Rifle right now and those came out in 1860.
 
Not to mention nobody knows how long the guns were manufactured in the Fallout universe since the lore is half baked shit cooked up after the fact. Come at me bros. I want a Fallout with psychic powers and flying mech suits.
 
I like to think you could still mail order a machine gun up until the day the bombs fell. Not to mention a god damn plasma pistol. Since this is America turned up 11, I expect nothing less.

I doubt it. The Second Amendment is dead, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Drugs, Tobacco, Firearms and Lasers killed it. Those gun grabbing commies won’t even let you buy combat armor without a special permit.
