Oh, for Frith's sake.

The post-card was originally from 30 days before the release of Fallout (which was in early October 1997, not as Wikipedia and even this site says in late September). It is a very clever reference to the fact that this date will soon be 10 years ago.

Now there's a banner splattered over the frontpage that reads "No Mutants Allowed presents Fallout's 10 year anniversary" and it's somehow still unclear?

NMA is doing *something* surrounding the 10 year anniversary. Gduh. More details to follow. Speculate if you will.

Ok, maybe the build-up is a bit too much. That's all your fault, though, I didn't expect you guys to start shouting "finished Van Buren" or "Fallout source code" with this note. Jeesh, guys, we're not miracle workers here, tone down your expectations a bit :|

but since you went all ninja and got to see the demo and wrote a preview(something we never expected), we all think that you lot can pull a rabbitt out of a hat.

hmm the frontpage logo art is from FO1... I haven't checked the gallery here or anything, but are there somewhere floating uncoloured "official" FO art?

Maybe the anniversary suprise is some concept art and design documents from the good Fallouts!

I don't know what it's going to be, but judging by those previously unseen sketches, I trust that it will be something great :) .
 
err you DO know what the definition of abandonware is right?

its a game where the copywright owner is not interested in protecting their intellectual property and it is no longer available for retail purchase.

sadly, fallout IS still being sold and available through various retail outlets. this makes it not abandonware still... hey Beth, TB-ISO game with crappy graphics is still getting sold via retail channels 10 years later enough to keep it getting sold and repackaged.... how well does daggerfall sell? huh?
