What's Trump up to now?

It almost seems like they think they are too good for the White House, or little Trump is a titty baby. Either that or Melanie wants nothing to do with this shit, which from the way she has been treated I can understand.
DC is a dump. can't blame them for not wanting to go to said dump.

Give me a fucking break. They would be living better than any of us and should be honored to stay in the White House.

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Honestly comparing a penthouse suite in New York City to the White House in Washington DC?

Sure, that gaudy Penthouse is better than a piece of history. No respect these days dagnabbit.

Looks fine to me.

I still don't know what I should think about the fact that so many politicans are so ... active on Facebook, Twitter and the like, of which some ... are really acting like douches and trolls. Like some right wing politicans in Germany, tweeting/posting the weirdest shit. Or this south american president that called Obama a 'Son of a bitch' and insulting people on Facebook.
It seems that some don't realize that the internet never forgets ... a speech, maybe you can say people didn't understood you. But text? It's there. For ever. And for everyone to read.

Thats why I use NMA, because when I inevitably become Prime Minister and restore the British Empire nobody will think to look here.

Seems to me that Obama better keep "counseling" Trump for a long while. And if Trump does something stupid, will Obama be like "F U dude, not helping you anymore!"?

In a way it's typical of the US system how chummy the ex-presidents are among each other. Bush and Clinton are real chummy, and probably Obama and Trump will be as well. What happened to 'change'? People elected Trump because they don't want too much chummyness in US politics? Or do they want a president that's chummy with the other party but bitchy to the world?

Crni_Vuk,

yes, I follow some politicians on Facebook. Weird how some of them sometimes get into stupid arguments with trolls. Some, especially the far-right ones, rely heavily on social media visibility and 'shit storms in a glass' they may be able to create by making stupid statements. Afterwards they explain "I didn't mean it, I was drunk, it was just a joke, etc.". Next week it's turn for another politician from the same far-right party to scream the n-word on twitter or something.

How the fuck did you come to that conclusion

Surely a terrible loss for Trump.

Yeah right

Not to mention he has basically called Obama a stupid idiot on many occasions.

Obama has already promised to help him and I'm fairly sure that he'll at least go through the motions. However, if Trump goes all racist in Obama's face or during the time he helps him, Obama might back off and leave Trump twisting in the wind.

Trump officially backing off from jailing or even charging Hillary. That's a YUUUUUUGE campaing promise broken pretty much immediately after the election.

Seems to me that Trump will be a lot more humble and will actually need Obama's advice. The last thing he needs is for the very well liked ex-POTUS to start going after Trump. Obama is probably the one in the best position to attack Trump's presidency given his inside knowledge of being prez.

Honestly, what really worries me in todays culture, how 'mannerism', is really going down the gutter. It's like people don't even pretend anymore to be 'friendly'. And not just in politics, it's everywhere at this point, young, old you name it, so really it's not just a generation thing. Stuff that can be as simple like not greeting work mates, being friendly to your neighbours and all of that for some totally stupid reasons. Maybe it's just me or I am paranoid, but part of the problem is that when you look at politics and how a democracy works, there are many systems in place to make sure that everything is runing smothly and it only works so well because there are unwritten rules that people follow, a certain 'mannerism' for example, that makes sure that people don't fight each other in the political environment. Beacuse that is simply not what a 'good' politican does, leave alone a gentlemen or lady.

I know that those kind of things look really funny ... but honestly ... I do not look forward at a government the future where that stuff becomes the norm in 10 or 20 years from now.

Zizek talks about it in detail here:

That's kind of a magnanimous thing to do, no? Ding dong the witch is dead, no need to waste tax-payer's resources on another Clinton investigation. There've been quite a few between her and her husband.

Humble? Trump? Dude's ego knows no bounds. He's not consulting Obama on dick. This is Obama's way of saying he's going to Monday Morning Quarterback Trump since the DNC is pretty much leaderless. Who's the DNC chair this week anyway? For those keeping score Wikileaks 2, DNC Chairs 0.

This is pretty selfish of me but if Trump rolls back on some of his more 'outrageous', promises, I am not going to freak out.

In some ways, the American people know that Trump has to work with the house and senate. He also knows he is not vested with unlimited power. It is inevitable that he would have to roll back on things.

Cut it out with the isolationist stance and act much more professional. Make acceptable compromise, so on and so forth.

Maybe freak out is the incorrect word here.

I have made it known I am not exactly happy with some of Trumps policies, primarily his penchant for isolationism.

So I would have to say that it would please me if that was one of the things he went back on.

So today, Trump seems to be on the trail to dial back some of his more controversial positions.

He now no longer supports torture and waterboarding, keeps an ''open mind'' on climate change (thankfully), disavowed some of the craziest alt-right loonies that had an infatuation with him, will no longer attempt to prosecute Clinton (so much for ''she's a criminal, lock her up'') and even tried to make friends with the NYT.

On the one hand, I am pleased that he's not as radical as he made it appear during the campaign. On the other hand, this starts to be a rather sizeable amounts of things he goes back on. The Clinton case, especially, will probably puzzle some of his more hardcore supporters.

It's probable that, given the relatively tight results of the election, his mandate is not as strong as it appears at first glance, and he knows he can only pull the angry anti-establishment candidate angle once, so he's already adjusting his strategy. Time will tell if it works; but for all the talk of him ''not being a politician'', he's giving us a 101 course right now.

But now he says he is again open to prosecuting her...Make your fucking mind up.
