Which states or cities would make good locations for a future Fallout game

Pretty sure a regular Aligator would be dangerous enough. Also there are unmutated dogs and coyotesroaming around, I just don't get this "MUTAN EVERYTHING" "IRRADIATED SOFTBALLS!" stuff as the go to idea or go to INCREDIBLE ELEMENT! Pretty superficial.

b-but then Hawaii wouldn't be so badass then ;~;

The Tunnelers were primitive underground creatures which only came to the surface after they were alerted by the cathastrophe of the Divide, Having regular old animals become a huge threat because they are no longer actively hunted by humans and occupying more space is a huge deal too, a epidemic or swarm of insects that have naturally evolve to withstand pesticides that are destroying the crops of a community (the ycould even be the tool of another organization), more experimental creatures ala Nightstalkers, introduce the malfunctioning and feral Cyberdogs in masse, animals from a zoo that survived the chaos and bred, there is a lot of shit that can be done without just resorting to mutate every singl thing, or irradiating it.

Is a mutated creature becoming more dangerous likely? Of course not. You just get tumors and, if you're lucky, a baby born with an extra useless limb. But it makes things damn fun. Speculating an interesting path for an animal based off of grotesque mutations? It's more interesting then just a plain old escaped zoo animal. Same reason a giant ant is better then a small ant- or even better, a flame throwing ant.

while youre obviously right, and you can have fun animals without resorting to magical radiation, it makes perfect sense within Fallout.

My point is more about variety, we don't want Fallout to just become a formulaic "X city with mutated Ys" same way we don't want the Enclave becoming the recurring villains of the series.

You're completely right, yeah. There's definitely ways to have variety- though I vp think for a setting like Manhattan where it's literally a glowing crater it makes sense for essentially all the life to be utterly mutated.

there are no zoos on Manhattan, right? I could have the outer Burroughs infested with the escaped denizens of the Bronx Zoo...

What about a city that because of the fauna that took control of it and vegetation overtaking everything (could even have some "mutated plant life" there to make it more interesting) is hasn't become a "wasteland" but rather a Savanna? A deadly oasis that many have died trying to exploit or venture. There could even be settlementes built right outside of it forming a force to try and colonize it for the possible resources it can hold like lost technology, water, food and even some treasure that thanks to the years and the obscurity of it has become a legend? Maybe a Vault that surface to it and insead of getting Mauled they became a sort of underground tribe or something. Just throwing ideas.

Well that's the part where I on't know, I don't live in the US so I can't really assert anything.

Seattle/Portland
San Francisco
Wyoming
El Paso/Juarez
Any major city near Midwestern BoS Territory

I think we can all agree that Amsterdam would be fantastic.

I don't really see the point of using Amsterdam as a Fallout backdrop setting and I am from the Netherlands. When it comes to Europe I still think places like for example Berlin still make more sense.
Netherlands... Rotterdam? Den Haag?

I would love to see a Fallout game take place in E.P.C.O.T. which means Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow

Walter Disney's original plans for EPCOT was to create a large prosperous utopia, it's sole purpose was to test and showcase new technologies before being released to the American public. The most interesting thing is that the city was planned to be built under a giant controlled Bio dome.

Sadly Walter died before its creation, and his "Imagineers" redesigned it into the big ball you see today. But... What if Walter didn't die before its creation in the Fallout universe? And what if this community survived after the war?

  • E.P.C.O.T. would be a new faction. It would be a powerful industrial city-state located in the center of Florida. It wouldn't have a great military however, due to it being designed to only test domestic technologies.
  • I would like to imagine the malfunctioned GECK was canon, this would create a dangerous environment around the area. An explanation of how it survived being overtaken is the controlled bio dome covering the city. The community however would have trouble keeping it at bay.
  • New wildlife such as wild chimpanzees, prehistoric sized crocodiles, dangerous carnivorous plants, and debilitating diseases.
  • Florida has a history of launching the Apollo missions, so there could be new lore considering the U.S.S.A., Where there could be possible reference to Enclave plans to go to space. There is also space faring companies like SpaceX in our universe. It would be interesting if there were some prewar private space corporations, where they would advertise an escape to space if an apocalypse were ever to happen.

This is why I would love to see a Fallout game take place in EPCOT Florida.

I like that idea. It does remind me of the ill fated Fountains of Dreams though. Only on the surface level. Stick around to share more good ideas.

A prominent location along Route 66 would be good.

I think Route 66 would be Old 66 in Fallout canon. The Interstate killed a lot of Route 66 tourist spots like the one here in Oklahoma.
