Why do you like NMA?

I love NMA because I created this site in the early 21st century after I created the early 21st century while suffering from a bout of what I would like to call "deranged creativity". Or "intoxication", but then I have to explain how I created drugs and that's a long story.
Anyway, after I created this hive of cum and faggotry, I created each and every one of you, it from bit-style, improvising on a theme, like some overambitious god. And soon, my children, I will be imagining a humongous chunk of solid iron forged in the bowels of the Universe and hurtling towards Earth at 100,000 miles per hour. Eager to hit and wipe the slate clean. Or "tabula rasa" in Latin, one of the first languages I created and still love to this day.

No I like it. Not as much as the order though. But you get one with the other.
 
That reminds me - are you okay Walpknut? Watched Colombia burning in some TV news yesterday, Bogota has been covered in smoke alright.

And this is actually why I find NMA itnteresting. Lots of folks with different cultural background from different countries all across the globe! That makes for very colourful discussions, with various angles of view.
 
The Mountains are burnning but those aren't close to either my workplace or my house so I have been mostly unaffected by it. I see Helicopters carrying water everyday since tuesday and the sky is mostly gray tho.

The weather has been a bitch, it's way too hot but it rained yesterday (probably from all that water they threw at the fire) for the first time in a month. Bogota is usually rainy and cold and that's how I liked it.
 
Isn't it often like that though? You see a foreign country on the news, and you feel like the event happened to the country as a whole.
In that country though, there are distances between events. Even Djibouti takes a while to circumvent :V

On my way home from Spain, grandma told me there had been storms "in Norway", strong enough to tear up houses. I was slightly worried, untill I got home, and was told that all this damage had been in Ålesund, a town some 6-8 hours car from here.
That's far! That's far and completely irrelevant to my immediate surroundings! :D
 
Nah, Walpknut posted Google Street View pictures of the university in Bogota he spend some time at recently, that's why I'm asking. I'm well aware of distances, don't worry! :P
 
Those kids in the University are probably having this week off, many schools and businesses in that area closed down due to the Ash and Smoke.

What's Columbia like man? I always used to hear about the war in drugs there and violence back when I was a lot younger.
 
Colombia is like Colombia, can't really tell you "How it is", I live mostly fine, the most violent it got was back in the 80's, it's a third world country but we aren't red boina wearing dudes in the jungle like action movies would make you think. Nowadays all the Drug cartels are in Mexico, qe still got our internal war with paramilitar groups and lots of corruption and the wage gap is pretty noticeable.

Oh hey, alec found a new thing on Wikipedia and needs to show off now.
 
Thee Communism bit is just all talk nowadays, there are also para milatary groups that formed to fight them but that end up becoming just as bad. It's like a jenga tower.
 
I suspect that for many of these groups, the jungle-guerilla lifestyle becomes, well, their life. It goes beyond fighting for specific goals or victories. It becomes almost tribal in nature
 
I like forums in general because I like how vintage they are, I remember they were popular in mid 00's but then facebook appeared and they started dying, I though that was kind of unfair so I wanted to find one for communicating with people. When I was searching for an English-speaking forum I tried a couple of them but none of them seemed to be comfortable for me. Then I tried moving from general talking forums to more concentrated around one topic forums and then I found NMA. I really like develop my English skills here and the community is very kind and friendly.
