Why Hitman (2016) failed miserably...

In all seriousness Zeno, don't let the bad games stop you from taking a look at the decent/good stuff.

I don't look at games as individial items, because they're not.

They're property, owned by various jackasses.

Would you buy some butter, knowing it'd be funding Hitler exterminate the jews?

I mean, its 'just' butter, not an illegal substance or something.

I don't fund companies which directly lie and harm consumers for profit.

Which narrows a LOT of my options the point where I just laugh at any who do.

They're particularly property owned by corporations which are created by hundreds of artists and creators who have nothing to do with that as well and people I support by buying. So, ultimately, I disagree with your choice but it's your money.

If you want to fund EA to abuse more consumers, your choice.

Which usually holds as long as they relase this one product that you MUST have ...

Naw in all seriosness though, I understand you I was once like you. But I don't know if it's the age, depressions or that I just stoped to give a fuck, I am now kinda ... whiser? I guess. No clue.

See, EA isn't making profit by selling licensed water to poor africans, exploting war zones for rare minerals or polluting the sea with drilling for oil.
They are just a really large publisher for games and not ISIS and I think, if you want to hold a grudge against a really large corporation like as it would be a person, do it. That's ok. As said, I was like that. But in the mean time I would personaly have no problem to buy Wolfenstein, if it's really good while hating on Bethesda for Fallout 4.

Wiser? Naw, more like just uncaring enough to move on. Wiser generally means you have intense knowledge of the concept as well as having patience, yet still active against the bullshit.

I have no problem buying Wolfenstein either...used at a discount so they get no money.

Buying Wolfenstein only funds Elder-Shit 6 though.

I think Bethesda Game Studios has plenty to fund that already. To be honest with the profits they got in the last 5 years they can probably fund 10 full games just from that.
Smaller studios do use the money they got from selling the previous game to fund the next, but Bethesda has a profit of hundreds of million dollars while still being a small studio (around 150 people).
Then we have Bethesda Softworks that is the distributor, which also makes tons of money, then we have Zenimax that is the "sugar daddy/master" of both (and other studios too) which can always inject millions of dollars in a game if they know they will get a profit (and TES games always make a profit). They don't need the money of Wolfenstein to finance a TES game.

Oh I know, but every dollar helps.

I can't stand modern AAA development.

I wasn't always like this, I used to buy CoD every year, Battlefield 3, I would have bought Halo if I had an Xbox.

I wasn't much of a PC player really, grew up on PS2 and Nintendo DS/Wii.

I think Dwarf Fortress fucked me up for good, such amazing mechanics which all (mooooooooostly...) work perfectly and logically, then I started getting into 90's games...Which are superior mechanically to games of today.

Doom 1? Colourful and unique enemies which all work perfectly, no scripted bullshit. Goood map design, no need for gimmicks like jetpacks and such. Awesome weapons which feel powerful, even the lowly shotgun can 1 hit enemies from far away, yet alone the SUPER shotgun. Enemy count upwards of the thousands on some stupid WAD's.

Not-Doom 2016? Drab unoriginal enemies which need scripts for bossfights, boring map designs, need gimmicks to make it work, ruined weapon balance, unlimited ammo for grenades and pistol and shit, and enemy count is capped to 12.

TWELVE.

WHY SHOULD I HAVE DOOM 4 IF DOOM 2 HAS LEVELS UPWARDS OF FORTY AT ONE TIME!?

Yeah, but from all the people working at bethesda maybe 0,1% of the are the 'A'holes responsible for the garbage that you're complaining about. See, we all here don't have very high feelings for Bethesda as company. But I will repeat my self. They aren't making money with selling weapons to african war lords or by exploiting child labour or something like that. It is at the end of the day a game. And Bethesda is also a publisher, by giving money to the people that made Wolfenstein, you kinda say, hey! I want more quality content!

If you decide to 'pirate' their games you're also supporting them by the way, not with your money, but with your attention, popularity, the more people download it, the more people want to have it. Popularity is also something Bethesda wants.

At the end of the day its just a game, but I'm tired of EVERYONE exploiting idiotic consumers.

Pirating said games don't give them any attention at all, I don't seed the torrents, and they aren't connected to any servers.

Zeno, dude/girl/chosen pronoun, do you even know how pirating games work? If you download it, people also download it from you as well.

If you're referring to seeding 'letting others download the torrent off you', I always turn those off.

If you're referring to friends and such.

Welll...

Think I got any?

;(

Things have been lax, but don't admit to pirating and shit like that someone might get butthurt.
