Will Fallout 3 be remembered?

I hope it doesn't become a reference of C & C compared with future games.

I bet it will. Just look at how people consider the Megaton choice as fantastic C & C...

You mean your dad being midly disapointed for like 5 minutes ?

Completely contrived and insignificant consequences are still better than illusion of choice. Better than Megaton exploding no matter what you pick, and having your dad be really angry at you no matter which choice you decided on. Unless it's meant to be a linear game and not an RPG, in which case - eh.

Woah, how did you piss him off so much? All he did was say I was a bad boy and then go back to praising me.

Sorry, i meant 5 seconds, not 5 minutes.

Yes, it's a great game.

People can say that with a straight face?
I'd say it's only a great game if you just play it with a mindless mindset. Otherwise it's just below average.

I enjoyed a Call of Duty game. It came after COD4MW, too. So my standards for gaming aren't too high.

That said, I have different standards for each specific genre of games.

But I can say, with my brain functional and a straight face, that Fallout 3 was a great game, yes.

To repeat what has been said so many times, Fallout 3 is good for what it is but a bad Fallout.

Well, some here actually believe Fallout 3 as a standalone, not-Fallout game is still a bad game. I don't think so, in fact, I think it's an outright decent game and above average but not memorable enough to be "remembered" as it's described here.

I think everyone who has played it will remember it.

There are those who will remember it as "the bad sequel": NMA and people who really see it for what it is.
Then, those who will remember it as their first Fallout: me, and everyone else.

But I can't see people actually remembering for the game it was.

Ok, so I've seen this poll around for years and in all that time the scores have remained relatively the same, so where did 600+ votes come from?

Reddit declare war or something?

Yep. I honestly think so.
What's even the point? It's a poll in a small discussion forum based on arguing valid opinions. It's not like Reddit where upvotes or downvotes rule the day. Things like these are too noticeable, to the point that they just don't matter if someone decides to mess with it.

Plus! That top "lasting impression" statement doesn't necessarily mean the game was good, so they've basically picked a vague choice that can work against them.

I don't get Reddit. It's a whole new world for me... and not a good one. Agreed, that's what I thought but still...

Shit really? I thought a mod was gonna appear to say, "whoops something went wrong there. Glitch fixed". If this is genuinely some kind of Reddit trolling shit I am amazed but not surprised.

I still think it's the work of one person who effortlessly decided to do something to the website. The "too much time on their hands" kind of script kiddie.

This doesn't seem like a Reddit thing. Maybe a 4chan thing, but I still think it's only one person's doing. Anyways, can this be fixed?

.. where did 600+ votes come from?
The reason is simple - shitty poll! Both groups can vote for the first option, no matter whether you enjoy the game or not:
"Absolutely. It will leave a lasting impression."
What impression? Positive or negative?

Actually, looking at it now, the poll says MY vote was cast to "It will leave a lasting impression" when I actually voted for the "better not, it's a mediocre game" option. So yeah, someone's definitely fucked with this.

I did already say this! Still, I don't think there are even up to 600 active users on NMA in the past few months, so this is logically impossible unless it was done illegitimately.
