Would people be interested in contributing to NMA's Fallout 4 and DLC review?

Crap, this takes longer than it should. It was suppose to be online more than two weeks ago.
I am going to put the deadline at the end of the week for both text and screenshots.
If people are not done by then it is their problem. Same goes for the screenshots, I will just get some from the Internet then.

Fair enough. Let's aim for the 10th, the one year anniversary of release, if we can.

EDIT: Probably a bit late on this, but I've added one final lore issue. Pre-War Serenity.

Ow crap, I forgot all about this while I did respond on more useless topics.
You're a gem AgentBJ09, thanks for being willing to correct mistakes and typos in the review. I wish my own English was more sufficient, but as I learned today during English I still have a long way to go.

Truly a godsend. Way to go.

I know I'm getting annoying, but will we see the article during weekend completed? What about other reviews and their inclusion?

>Reading this thread
>See so much stuff thats so blatantly wrong
>People saying stuff like Codsworth has AI when he doesn't
>People saying the nuke was close enough to dose you in radiation when it was over 16 miles away, and the radiation wouldn't have reached that far even if they were using one of the few megaton+ sized bombs left
>People still acting like we magically get put on the Vault list when we talk to the Vault-Tec rep despite the fact he clearly states we had already filled out the paper work some time before, and he is just going around doing some surveys.

The posts on this thread are mostly drafts for the review, and can be edited. if people are wrong about certain things, feel free to correct them on those topics.

It's not the right time and the right person, considering we're missing deadline after deadline and considering his "points" in previous discussions.

Now, please, everyone, be patient and keep the thread out of derailment.

Well ok. From what I've seen so far

1. Codworth does not have true AI, he has a personality matrix akin to the various appliances in The Sink in OWB. They even make something of a big deal about this in the Automatron DLC. We also see this in both Codsworth and Curie, both of whom are forced to continue tasks that are obviously no long needed(such as Codsworth trying to clean the house, and Curie waiting for a Vault-Tec rep to come give her the clearance to leave her room), which they wouldn't be doing if they had true AI and could think for themselves.

2. The bomb is nowhere near close enough to have hit anyone in Sanctuary with radiation. If we account for the real world positions of Sanctuary and the bomb's impact site, the bomb is so far away that the only real question is how did the blast wave reach Sanctuary. But even in the hypothetical situation that the bomb somehow was powerful enough to throw radiation that far, radiation does not work on the premise of "exposed to any amount of radiation = instant mutated DNA". People are exposed to radiation on a daily basis, and there are even people whose job it is to dive into nuclear reactors, and they don't get any sort of mutated DNA because their expose is kept to a minimum. The brief few seconds we would have been exposed to radiation in the intro wouldn't have been enough to mutate our DNA in any noticeable way. And this is based on real world science.

3. Nate/Nora do not first learn about either Vault-Tec, or the Vault, when talking to the Vault-Tec guy in the beginning. Nor do we first sign up for the Vault when talking to the Vault-Tec guy in the beginning. The Vault-Tec rep himself states you had already signed up for the vault some time before, and he was just going around doing some interviews or w/e. You being allowed to ask about Vault-Tec is phrased in the form of a memory refresher, which is done for the sake of the player. Its something every RPG from Pillars to Baldur's Gate does to provide the player information about the world they might not know, even if the character logically would since they lived there their whole lives. Even Sawyer admitted the same about the Courior asking about "What is the NCR" in New Vegas.

Getting to them as quick as I can. As for the weekend, that I can't meet. There's still a lot to dig through and fix.

Just stumbled across something related to the Lore section of the review.

Does this have any credence, or are we looking at more headcanon stuff? I'm leaning towards the latter because changes in art style don't always mean new things.

This APA = X-01 pretty much should be already dead meme. Augury on helmet? What are you, @Tagaziel?

APA is smaller by a ton (And smaller than T-51B, really, which is important too) and X-01 not only awfully bulky, it's based on the same carcass as any other PAs in FO4, APAs shoulder pads are asymmetrical under firing from weapons requiring pulling the left arm forward like miniguns that were seen in action in Fallout 2 intro, which is not the case for X-01.

I think the topic's question wrong. It should sound like "Is X-01 really APA?"

It's headcanon video, especially if you consider Nuka-World canon, but he's right on one thing. Either FO4 or NWorld is fucked up, so no lore issues resolved.

It this point, i am not sure NMA should bother still talking about Branded by Beth Fallout games, but rather dwelves into the not named Fallout but spiritual successors games.

I don't think anyone here still have any kind of remaining expectations concerning Beth. Hope for Beth went to the same place as the children of the Cathedral. Complete Oblivion. (which, as the pun wasn't intended, is also their title which killed any hope from them)

The canon is a fucking travesty.

Good point. I'll adjust the review part for it.

The canon is a fucking travesty.

Point taken.

Hi guys,

I have not followed the conversation about Advanced Power Armor/X-01 Power Armor really (I stick to Fallout 2's explanation/the Fallout Bible that it is a post war developed design), but is it really that important for this review?

Also, how far are the rest of you? Are your reviews finished?
Some screenshots are still needed for this article, do any of you have some by now?

The debate on the armor is pointless since Fallout 5 will introduce a new pre-war power armor T-65X that was really the bestest armor but only some people in some special area had it and you can find it everywhere.

I would help more on this but I'm real busy. If speed doesn't pick up I'll make some time.

I'm at Survival Mode presently in the editing. If need be, I can pick up a used copy of the game and use it to farm some screenshots or videos.

Otherwise, that video showed up in my suggested feed, and since I have that part for the Lore segment, it caught my attention.
