For me, I'd have to say I have two favorites, Mr. House and Joshua Graham. Mr. House: He had the foresight to do all possible to protect Vegas and give it and its people one of the best opportunities in the aftermath of the war. I won't say he's good or evil, the man clearly is motivated by long term goal planning; some of his deeds are terrible and some are wonderful.
Joshua Graham: A man who can talk about his god and religion and at the same time remain full of vengeance for what Caesar did to him and a cold, brutal desire to eliminate his enemies impresses me. I also like that he has no confusion or feelings of contradiction in his beliefs.

Kind of an off the wall one, but for a minor character, I love Cliff Briscoe, I love his reaction if you go psycho in novac, if you kill the hotel owner, how he picks his nose when you first meet him or when you toss live grenades at him. Dude just makes me laugh.

That granny tranny up in westside that can doublefist me.

That or caeser. Hes quite magnetic.

Chief Hanlon, probably. You listen to that guy and you know he's seen some real shit. Walked the wastes more than the average ranger, let alone the average man.

No Bark all the way. He reminds me of my old neighbor who believes in the most batshit insane conspiracy theories. I would listen to hours of his insanity with a smile on my face trying not to giggle. Good times.

I would have to say Craig Boone or Yes Man, Boone has that sense of mystery that keeps you interesting and Yes Man is just hilarious!

I really can't choose just one character. New Vegas is simply one of the greatest games ever made. It is filled with amazing characters and carefully written dialogue. I would be very interested to see an analysis of the reading level of New Vegas' dialogue vs. Fallout 4...

Rex (who has a wonderful quest and backstory, unlike Dogmeat in FO4)
All of the Casinos and their sidequests - Heck Gunderson and the Ultra Luxe, the Omertas, the Tops...

And of course: Fantastic! at the Helios One building.

This game was crafted by wonderful, talented writers who really "get" Fallout. I could listen to Mr. House talk all day, same with many other characters. The voice acting is superb.

Out of the base game companions, the only one I did not like as much as the rest would be Rex (and even he has a special place in my heart with his hatred of rats and hats along with his long history plus Old World Blues even remembered to give him a happy ending). All the companions were great and memorable in their own ways with detailed stories attached to them so I can't pick my absolute favorite from the lot (though Boone, Veronica, Raul and Cass are top contenders).

As for other characters; Joshua Graham, the Think Tank (Mobius included), Vulpes Incula, Elijah, Christine Royce, Ulysses (when he's busy not preaching), Sarah Weintraub, Tabitha, Davison and Mr. House.

Gonna throw some love out to Ulysses. Boy oh boy does he like to drone on, but his story's pretty awesome. Basically a protagonist in his own right, with his own cool adventures.

Plus, the story about the White Legs "honouring" Ulysses by wearing their hair in dreadlocks is really awesome. I like how he tries to read the hair and realises they're completely ignorant of what the braids in the hair were supposed to represent.

I liked Caesar & Ulysses a lot but I'd have to give it the one & only - Raúl. Nothing beats having Danny Trejo accompany me on my journey through the Mojave.

Randall Dean Clark

His story is completely amazing, full of heartbreak and melancholy. Reading his journals feels like looking into the mind of an actual person. His choices and motivations felt authentic and his heroism was understated. Everything about his story felt appropriate while being both tragic and hopeful. My current courier, Wyatt, carries his rifle as a way to remind himself of the moral compass that guided the man and the ideal that he hopes to somehow emulate.

Ceasar. His character actually shows why he is the Legion's leader. Raul is a fun character, but who doesn't like Danny Trejo. His companion quest is well written.

Dean Domino when I played Dead Money. I fell in love with his story and struggle of the Sierra Madre. Determining his fate in the DLC was the cherry on top.

And the maniacal Toaster in OWB...

I am replaying it right now, but I remember Yes Man and obviously Mr House to be really amazing characters.

Not so much a favourite character, but I really like Katherine Pawlak's performance as Violet. Sounds genuinely unhinged. Shame it was cut.

I always liked Harland. That guy was a badass. If you look around you can see that he took out several nightkin by himself. It was nice to see a strong ghoul for once. He had a will to survive and the means to do it, even when cornered by a sizable group of cloaked, schizo Super Mutants. He joined up with the Bright Followers because he was lonely, even though he knew they were nutjobs. He felt real to me, and I could relate to him. He had some nice lines, too.
